Sony has a rom-com that will surely capture the internet’s attention. The studio has released the first trailer for Anyone But You, an R-rated rom-com with Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell (seen below). As expected, there is plenty of sexy footage of the two in various romantic scenes in beautiful locations.
In the footage, we see the Euphoria star on a boat and in a bikini with the Top Gun actor. She is trying to convince him to go public about their relationship to their friends and family. He shows reluctance and receives a slap to the balls. While it is an R-rated comedy, outside of the ball tap, it focuses more on its romance as the two are in various scenes, like going to a friend’s wedding.

Easy A director, Will Gluck, helms the film. He co-wrote it with Ilana Wolpert (High School the Musical: The Musical: The Series). The trailer does not give the full premise behind the story the two scribes wrote. The two stars had a short history that went sour. After reuniting at an Australian wedding, they pretend to be in a relationship. Eventually, the line between real love and pretend starts to blur.
While the two leads take the spotlight in the Anyone But You trailer, we get glimpses of the rest of the cast. The rom-com will also star Alexandra Shipp (Barbie), Darren Barnet (Never Have I Ever), Joe Davidson (Neighbours), Bryan Brown (Peter Rabbit), Gata (Dave), Rachel Griffiths (Six Feet Under), Dermot Mulroney (Scream 6), Michelle Hurd (Blindspot), and Hadley Robinson (Winning Time).
Due to the SAG-AFTRA strike continuing, we will likely not see the stars promote the film. Negotiations have been paused as studios walked away from giving performers a fair deal. Some films have been given passes if self-funded or from an indie studio. As Sony Picture is behind the R-rated rom-com, the leading actors will not be promoting it unless a deal is secured before December.
We will be able to see this false-perfect couple in theaters on December 15.
