A landlord in Arizona revealed on social media the strange aftermath of a room they recently vacated. Things had always been seemingly good between them, or so they thought. When they took a look at the room, they didn’t realize their roomie added her own artwork to the walls.
Shared by TikTok user Alicia (TikTok/The.big.stinky), the video gives a quick tour of their newly vacated room, which they rent out for extra cash. Alicia reveals several amateur drawings on the walls, which include Disney characters such as Elsa and Ariel, Nezuko from Demon Slayer, and the trio of Kpop Demon Hunters. Alicia does this with some commentary and clearly finds some humor in it, despite the walls being defaced.
Other than a flower over a closet door, the rest of the art was done by their previous tenant. Responding to a comment in a follow-up video, one commenter wrote, “I mean most of the art is decent but drawing and painting on the walls of a player you’re RENTING? Insane work.”
Alicia explains that this was all going on while they were living in the same home, given that Alicia is the homeowner and landlord. They tell the audience, “I am the homeowner, my name is on the mortgage, and I have tenants (roommates) who help pay the bills.”
More importantly, Alicia wants this to serve as a warning for others to “not own a home” if you can’t afford it. When asked how they got away with this, Alicia explained, “I don’t go into people’s rooms while they live there unless I’m invited in or I don’t see the room unless they have their door open when I walk by or something.” Alicia gave them an inch, and they went a mile!
How TikTok users responded to Alicia’s creepy art wall
People on TikTok were just as bothered by the wall of anime-inspired art, even finding out where the tenant would’ve come across the style online. However, viewers were just as outraged by the tenant’s audacity.
“These are 100% done by following Draw So Cute tutorials! I recognize that style anywhere!” said one viewer. And yep! It’s the exact same art style—big black bug eyes and all. “The person who drew this could’ve been anywhere between 12-26 and I genuinely can’t figure that out,” another wrote.
While some disparage the tenant’s art, such as “the classic i cant draw hands pose,” some viewers were delighted. “Its giving those 2016 kawaii artstyles on youtube i love it 😭😭,” one commenter wrote. “Property value just increased tenfold,” another said.
Although Alicia doesn’t seem that bothered about the wall art, it is mildly irritating when it’s your own home. Alicia states, “I’m fine going,” if landlords were suddenly eradicated. Being a landlord isn’t a fun job!
