A California neighborhood says it has spent years dealing with a woman allegedly using public sidewalks as her personal bathroom, but residents say the situation has now become far more frightening.
People living in Brentwood, Los Angeles, say the woman has repeatedly defecated on sidewalks around the neighborhood for years. Video obtained by FOX 11 shows the woman with her pants down near the corner of Goshen and Barrington Avenues, where residents say the behavior has become almost routine.
For Brentwood mother Wendy Kush, however, the problem allegedly escalated beyond something merely disgusting.
Kush said she was walking with her young daughter and dogs Tuesday when the woman came around the corner and allegedly began threatening her.
“She started yelling she was gonna kill me, lunging at me,” Kush recalled. She said she struggled to get one of her dogs moving before finally running away with her daughter and pets.
Kush described the encounter as “really scary.”
California Residents Question How Situation Continued for Years
The story generated an immediate reaction on TikTok, where viewers seemed equally horrified by the alleged behavior and stunned that neighbors said it had continued for years.
“For years?!?” one person asked.
Others questioned why authorities had apparently been unable to stop the repeated incidents. “Wouldn’t this be classified as ‘indecent exposure’? How is this legal??” one viewer wrote, while another argued that the woman’s options should be to “accept help, or go to jail.”
Some Los Angeles residents were less surprised. “Only made it to the news because it’s in Brentwood,” one commenter wrote. Another claimed, “This is happening all over Los Angeles,” while someone else added, “It happens all over downtown LA.”
The sheer absurdity of the story also produced plenty of dark humor. “THIS AND the butt sniffer dude. You guys, I cannot do this today,” one viewer joked.
Not everyone believed punishment alone would solve the larger problem. One commenter argued that greater access to public bathrooms could help, writing that people sometimes resort to relieving themselves outside because businesses refuse restroom access.
Still, the revelation that neighbors claim the behavior has continued repeatedly for years left many viewers baffled. One person summed up the disbelief with a simple question: “Why right there? Why not behind a bush or something?”
For Kush, the whole ordeal remains difficult to comprehend, especially because what initially shocked her apparently stopped surprising some of her neighbors long ago. One neighbor’s reaction said it all: “She does that every morning.”
