Are you looking forwrad to Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey? If so, you should head to Sydney, Australia in early October.
To celebrate the launch of Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey next month, Ubisoft Australia is holding an ‘Assassin’s Creed Challenge’ in Metcalfe Park, Sydney. Taking place on October 5th and 6th, the parkour-like course will capture the Ancient Greece theme of the game. It will feature six challenges, with each participant receiving a limited edition AC Spartan helmet for their efforts.
And, if you were wondering, yes, there will be a Leap of Faith section. As to whether this will have participants falling in bales of hale, remains to be seen, however.
Edward Fong, Managing Director at Ubisoft Australia, said of the event:
An Assassin’s Creed Obstacle course has been one of the most sought after requests by not only the Assassin’s Creed Community, but all Australian gamers. We are extremely excited to be bringing the concept to life to celebrate the launch of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey on October 5.
As part of the promotion, Odyssey will be playable on-site on Xbox One X consoles. And, if the prospect of owning a Spartan helmet wasn’t enough, attendees will be able to win custom Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey Xbox One X consoles. They can do so by dominating in the following categories: Best Photo, Best Video, and Best Cosplay. Participants must then upload their photos to Instagram using the hashtag #AssassinsCreedChallenge.
Until the Assassin’s Creed Challenge begins, however, revel in these CG mock-ups of the course. If the event turns out to be anything like what these pictures promise, then we’re in for something good.
Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey is the eleventh major installment in the franchise. It is the first of the AC games to take place in Ancient Greece. Set in 431 BCE, it recounts the fictional history of the Peloponnesian War. The player will take on the role of a mercenary and can choose to fight for Athens’ Delian League or Sparta’s Peloponnesian League. The game is due for release on PS4, Xbox One and Windows on October 5th. In addition, it is set for release on Nintendo Switch in Japan.
