The long-running Assassin’s Creed series is getting another addition dubbed Codename Jade. The yet-to-be-named project is getting a closed beta that everyone can sign up for right now on the official website. And being a mobile-exclusive title, the Assassin’s Creed Codename Jade closed beta can only be played on iOS and Android. After signing up, those selected can participate in the test from August 3 to 11.
The project had been announced and discussed in whispers for a while, but this is the first time that fans will finally experience some actual gameplay. Assassin’s Creed Codename Jade is set to be a departure from what the series is known for. The game is exclusive to smartphones and is being developed with the help of Level Infinite, owned by Tencent. Ubisoft has confirmed that the name is a placeholder and probably will stick around until it gets a release date.
Assassin’s Creed Codename Jade Closed Beta
Being a closed beta, not everyone who signs up will get a chance to play the game. Since Ubisoft hasn’t confirmed what the criteria are, it is probably on a first-come, first-serve basis. There has been no announcement in regard to an official release date.
We have already seen the game in action, but only vertical slices of the game. It will be much more telling once people get their hands on the Assassin’s Creed Codename Jade during the closed beta and find out how well the transition to mobile works.
Ubisoft has doubled down on pushing Assassin’s Creed games like never before. The company already has multiple projects on the horizon. You can see the complete list below:
- Assassin’s Creed Mirage
- Assassin’s Creed Codename Hexe
- Assassin’s Creed Codename Red
- Assassin’s Creed Nexus (VR)
- Assassin’s Creed Infinity
