This led most fans to believe that it required a constant connection while playing the game. The developers took to X (Formerly Twitter) and put those fears to rest. According to the announcement, Assassin’s Creed Shadows will not require a constant internet connection during gameplay, but it will require one while installing.
After the cinematic reveal, this news led to quick fan backlash over forcing online connectivity, which resulted in a prompt response from Ubisoft. Now Assassin’s Creed fans can rest easy knowing that they will only need to connect once while the game installs, and then can play through the game’s entirety without needing an internet connection.
