If you thought the first two chapters of Baldur’s Gate 3 were brimming with quests, hold on to your camping supplies because the third chapter goes hard. Anyone who arrives at Rivington will find the town in chaos due to recent attacks and other shenanigans. While you can ignore most side quests and move on to the real deal, we recommend you grab as many missions as possible to get experience. If you move toward the entrance of the big city, you’ll encounter the ‘Find the Missing Letters’ quest in Baldur’s Gate 3, and here we’ve made a guide to help you complete it.

How to Complete the ‘Find the Missing Letters’ Quest in Baldur’s Gate 3

Before trying to complete the ‘Find the Missing Letters Quest’ in Baldur’s Gate 3, you must head to the Sword Coast Couriers building to grab it. You’ll find this place on the northern side of Rivington, past the circus and the Open Hand Temple.

After you enter the building, you must speak with the person in charge to start the quest. He won’t mention many things or give you many clues; however, if you pass certain checks, he’ll mention the missing letters are important due to personal reasons. Now that you have the quest, let’s start cracking the case.

Speak With the Pigeon Commander

The ‘Find the Missing Letters’ quest in Baldur’s Gate 3 isn’t long, but it can be if you don’t speak with the right people or animals, in this case. To get your first and most important clue, you must head upstairs to the Sword Coast Couriers building and talk to the Pigeon Commander.

You’ll need the Animal Speaking spell or potion to learn that some pigeons have died in the line of duty. After certain dialogues, the commander will mark the map with the location of where his pigeons went MIA. This will lead you to the rooftop of the Open Hand Temple.

How to Reach the Open Hand Temple’s Rooftop

Like other things, the game won’t tell you how to reach the Open Hand Temple’s rooftop, which means you’re about to do some exploring. While the place isn’t big, reaching the top of this building can be hard if you don’t have keen eyes. Thankfully, we’ll list the steps to reach the rooftop and the letters here:

  1. Enter the temple through the main entrance (across from the Sword Coast Couriers building).

  2. Stick to the right side and head to the kitchen.

  4. You’ll spot vines that you can use to climb and reach the rooftop.

  5. Speak with the Tressym on its nest.

How To Obtain the Missing Letters

Once more, you’ll need the Animal Speaking spell or potion to interact with the Tressym, who, spoiler alert, is related to one of your companions. After some dialogues, you can convince the tressym to leave, letting you grab the missing letters. All you must do now is return them to the Sword Coast Couriers and finish the quest.

And that’s the fastest way to finish the ‘Find the Missing Letters’ quest in Baldur’s Gate 3. While it isn’t the longest, it is a fun quest that gives you more details about a certain familiar and lets you interact with a few military pigeons. So, if you’ve been meaning to explore the rooftops of this town, now’s your chance, thanks to this fun mission.

Baldur’s Gate 3 is out now on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
