One thing that blew our minds during our playthrough of Baldur’s Gate 3 was the Nighsong quest. This mission begins in Act 1 and looks like the usual treasure-hunting quest, which turns into something much bigger throughout the 3 Acts of the game. If you’ve reached the Lower City area of Act 3, you might’ve found the Wizard that sent the first adventurers to find Nightsong; here, you’ll get to choose to ally with him or fight him to protect the Nighstong. If you choose the latter, we’ll tell you how to defeat Lorroakan in Baldur’s Gate 3.
Where to Find Lorroakan in Baldur’s Gate 3
To find Lorroakan in Baldur’s Gate 3, head to the Lower City and find Sorcerous Sundries. Here, you’ll be greeted by an Illusion of Lorroakan, someone you’ve heard of through Rolan. This Wizard is the one that sent the first adventurers to find the Nightsong, the group that was with Halsin when he got captured.
If you talk to the illusion, you must pick the option that talks about giving him information regarding Nightsong. Doing so will open four portals behind the reception; pick the white one on the left. After that, you’ll get transported to his tower, and you can talk to him and tell him everything about Nightsong. Here’s where new choices present to you:
- Promise him to bring Nightsong and hand her over.
- Say nothing and go back to your camp to speak with Nightsong.
It is important to note that you won’t be able to progress through this quest if you kill Nightsong or let her die during Ketheric’s fight. You can follow the guides above to learn more about it.
Lorroakan Boss Fight
If you return to your camp and inform Nightsong about Lorroakan’s existence, she’ll join you in the fight. Return to Sorcerous Sundries, enter the portal, and begin the fight. Here’s how to defeat the Wizard:
- Lorroakan will spawn several elementals that will give him a shield; avoid attacking him until you defeat the elementals.
- Keep Nightsong alive at all costs, as she can die for good here, too.
- If you want to end the fight easily, use AoE attacks near Lorroakan; some weapon skills won’t trigger his shields, letting you damage him without getting hit yourself.
- Focusing on the elementals is the safest way to get Lorroakan’s shield down; focus on the Air and Fire elementals first.
Who Should You Side With?
In the end, the biggest choice is deciding who to side with. Here, we went with Nightsong and Isobel (provided she’s alive by the time you reach this quest) because we’ve been with them through Act 2. However, if you side with Lorroakan, he and his elementals will join you as allies for the final fight.
