Wyll, one of your companions, has a very intricate and interesting questline, firstly because of Mizora. Once, he had a deal with the Archdevil Zariel and was endowed with powerful demonic powers in exchange for fulfilling his master’s whims. You can change his fat, so we’ll tell you if you break Wyll’s pact with Mizora in Baldur’s Gate 3. Each of the options will have its own consequences, so we’ll explain what awaits you in detail.
How To Break Wyll’s Pact in BG3
You can’t just break the pact at any time, but only when Mizora comes to your camp and offers it to you. To initiate this important event, you will need to meet certain conditions, namely:
- While in Wyrm’s Crossing, talk to Gortash during his Archduke ceremony.
- When the ceremony is over, recruit Wyll to your team and talk to Duke Ravengard. After the conversation, Wyll will tell you that something is wrong with his father, and you will have to talk to him in the camp.
- Go to the Lower City in Baldur’s Gate and camp there.
If you do everything right, you will need to use the long rest option. When you do, Mizora should appear in your camp and tell you that the real Duke Ravengard is imprisoned, and you are unlikely to find him on your own. So, now that she has given you her ultimatum, you will have a choice:
- Wyll signs the contract and gets his father’s location to save him.
- Wyll breaks the contract, and Duke Ravengard dies at the hands of the enemy.
Do not rush to make a choice yet. To understand the situation in more detail and make the right choice, we will consider each of the options separately.
What Happens if Wyll Signs a Contract?
If Wyll signs the contract, he will serve Mizora in hell forever. In return, you will receive information about the location of Wyll’s father to rescue him. This choice does not affect the gameplay or the story, except for the fact that Wyll will forever be Mizora’s errand boy.
On the other hand, you can rescue Duke Ravengard, who is imprisoned in Iron Throne. You can go there to save him, and Mizora will even partially help you.
What Happens if Wyll Breaks the Pact?
If you decide to break the contract, things get much more interesting. From now on, Wyll will be free and will not depend on Mizora in any way. Moreover, even his Warlock powers are not lost because, according to the contract, he will lose them when Absolute is destroyed. So, now you can continue to enjoy Wyll’s presence on your team, but what about Duke Ravengard?
Yes, this is indeed a problem because you lose the opportunity to save probably the most important person for Baldur’s Gate. Don’t worry, it’s not as bad as you might have imagined. In fact, Mizora lied, and no one will kill Wyll’s father. He’ll just be imprisoned in Iron Throne, but you won’t know about it.
If you want to sneak into the Iron Throne to free the prisoners, Mizora will oppose you and try to prevent you from saving everyone, especially Duke Ravengard. In fact, this is not a big problem because now Wyll will be free, and his father, as it turns out, is still alive.
BG3: Should You Break or Sign a Contract With Mizora?
Yes, you should definitely break the pact. In fact, you will not lose anything if you forfeit the contract because the location of Duke Ravengard will be revealed eventually. Instead, Wyll will not be obliged to fulfill Mizora’s orders, which will make his life much easier.
Thus, you will not only be able to save Wyll from eternal service but also his father from prison, who will then tell you about the location of Ansur Dragon, an ancient dragon captured under Baldur’s Gate.
Now you know everyone about Wyll’s pact with Mizora in Baldur’s Gate 3 and can make the right decision!
