Larian Studios has seven companions to join your party, which can be customized with a combination of three of the seven options. Each companion in Baldur’s Gate 3 has their own story, so you will need a guide to navigate each character, like Wyll. The Warlock has a fascinating, compelling story while delivering powerful spells to take down enemies. We will go over everything you need to know about developing your relationship with the character. In our coverage, we will go over his stats, where to find him to recruit, and important aspects of his story that will affect him and your relationship.
How to Recruit Wyll
Wyll is easy to convince to join you early on in the game, depending on how much you divert to side quests. When you eventually reach Druid Grove, Wyll will be by some children as he trains them for battle. Talk to him to recruit him for your party while obtaining a quest to hunt Karlach, a supposed devil that he needs dead. We will get to know more about her later.
If you want Wyll as a Warlock companion, here is quick guide to his attributes, equipment, and skills before we get to the rest of the details about his character:
- Stats: Strength 9, Dexterity 13, Constitution 15, Intelligence 14, Wisdom 11.
- Starting equipment: Padded armor, leather boots, and a rapier.
- Skills: Arcana, History, Intimidation, and Persuasion.
Completing Wyll’s Quest
Like most quests in Baldur’s Gate 3, a companion quest guide for Wyll is not straightforward, as you will have decisions that will alter this path for you compared to other players. He will have two main quests that we will go over.
First, he will want to hunt down Karlach. You can do this with him at your party or have him sit out at camp. If you want a Barbarian, she is a strong companion to tear through enemies as she acts as your party’s tank. You can also kill her, but you don’t have to if you want to maintain a relationship with Wyll. You can convince him she is not who he thinks she is, leading to them becoming friends. This will upset Wyll’s patron, so be ready for the consequences of not killing Karlach and cooling any hot tension between the Barbarian and Warlock.
The other quest will take you through the Goblin camp. He will want to look for Spike, who is in the Shattered Sanctum of the camp. You will learn about Mizora, who Wyll wants to save. This quest will be for the long game as you slowly move this plot along by doing whatever Wyll requests.
Raising Wyll’s Approval
Everyone has things that will make them like or dislike you based on your actions. For our companion guide for Wyll, you will want to be good-natured, as he will disapprove of mischief or immoral choices. Depending on your party, he will have problems with Astarion and Lae’zel as they are open to morally questionable acts for their respective reasons. Whether it is wholesome or the right thing to do, Wyll will approve of your choices.
How to Romance Wyll
Every companion in Baldur’s Gate 3 can be romanced, so if you have a crush on Wyll, you can further that part of your relationship. After completing the Save the Refugees quest, a celebration will be had at your camp. Go to your chosen companion and start to get romantic. For Wyll, you will need a high approval, so make sure you have been planning this out for some time.
For all romances, you will convince them to have sex. Go to your bed, and it will begin the scene with that person. Things take a turn for Wyll as visions of his patron spoil the moment. You can convince him to still spend the night with you, even if the mood has been ruined by some friskiness.
