This article is over 1 years old and may contain outdated information.

Beans and rice go together like, well, beans and rice. What happens when one of the two decides he’s way too much of a badass to keep sharing the stage with the other? You get Killer Bean, a brand new single-dev roguelike that features a no-nonsense, no f*cks given, rogue assassin coffee bean whose only goal is to destroy the Shadow Agency.

Friday evening during the 2024 Summer Games Fest, we got a sneak peek at just what exactly Killer Bean was, and let me tell you, that coffee bean really knows his way around a pistol. Like, he goes really hard. From jumping out of his sports car to get some mid-air shots in at a biker, taking on firefight all while dual wielding pistols and flipping through the air like an acrobat, to breakdancing on a deadly dance floor, Bean gets sh*t done, and he does it in style.

After 2 yrs of game dev, I finally have a trailer for KILLER BEAN – the Game! It's a 1st person/3rd person, open world, roguelike shooter.

Killer Beans is a roguelike shooter that allows you to help Bean take out the trash, “one bullet at a time” in first or third person, all while making sure you dispel the Shadow Agency as effectively as possible, and you’ll get a new taste of this outrageous story every time you start a new campaign.

While there’s no reason for Killer Bean to be as intense as the trailers make it seem, I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t super excited for its release so I could try it out for myself.

Jordan is an experienced fantasy writer who spends hours behind her laptop, and lost in the pages of a book. She strives to be a successful gaming blogger, and has no complaint about the hours of game time she used to increase her knowledge of all things “geek”. She primarily writes gaming articles and fantasy novels. Ark: Survival Evolved is a favorite, along with Diablo 3, Warframe and Minecraft lately, though you can’t forget the good old Magic the Gathering card game! Writing about games truly gives her joy as it gives her another perspective to look at games from, a reason to really look into the mechanics of the game.
