Oh, Autumn. The time for being with relatives, enjoying a wonderful dinner, and thanking everyone for an incredible year. This is normal unless you’re a gamer who just wants some time alone to add more games to your backlog, stay in your room, and game like there’s no tomorrow. If that’s the case, the Steam Autumn Sale 2023 has kicked off, and you can get some fantastic deals. You can find almost all games in discount, ranging from turn-based RPGs to survival-crafting titles. Thankfully, most of them are recent games, meaning those who held off on some 2023 titles can play them now.
Steam Autumn Sale 2023: Top 10 Deals You Can’t Miss
(Updated on September 26, 2024 – updated links and format)
This year has been one of the best for gaming. We’ve some of the best AAA titles in history and many indie games that have made it to the top in a few days. With so many games and little time, we’ve picked 10 of the best deals you can get during Steam’s Autumn Sale.
1. Lords of the Fallen – 34% Off
What a year for soulslike games. Lords of the Fallen is a fantastic title that brought many things to the already-packed genre. With some fantastic mechanics that let you traverse between worlds and many weapons to use to make your way through Axiom, this game is a must-play for soulslike fans. Even if it launched with some performance issues, the developers have fixed most of the problems, making it a game worth playing more than once.
2. Hogwarts Legacy – 40% Off
The game that kicked off 2023 with a bang makes it to the Steam Autumn Sale 2023 as one of the best deals. If you have been waiting to play it, now’s the perfect chance. Even if it didn’t get any major updates, there’s still a lot of content that fans of the series and even newcomers will enjoy. Besides, it is much better to play it on PC instead of trying it on Nintendo Switch, which clearly can’t run it well. So, prepare to board the Hogwarts Express and leave for a magical adventure.
3. Lies of P – 20% Off
Neowiz launched a game that no one expected to be so great. Lies of P is a new take on Pinocchio’s story. You have the iconic character fighting evil puppets who want to take over the City of Krat. Of all the soulslike games of this year, Lies of P is the one that stays faithful to the genre’s roots while adding its style. It has many things to discover, a huge range of weapons and skills to use, and some of the best-designed bosses we’ve seen in years.
4. Cyberpunk 2077 – 50% Off
Next to No Man’s Sky, Cyberpunk 2077 has one of the best redeeming arcs in the history of gaming. CD Projekt Red’s latest title transports us to Night City and puts us in the shoes of V, a mercenary trying to survive after being implanted with an engram that threatens their life. With some of the best RPG mechanics in recent years and a fantastic story, any fan of the genre must play this one. While the game’s expansion, Phantom Liberty, isn’t on sale, you can still enjoy the 2.0 update, which revamped the game completely.
5. Sons of the Forest – 20% Off
Instead of being parents trying to find their kids inside a forest full of cannibals, you’re now a mercenary tasked with finding a billionaire in a forest full of cannibals. We’re kind of seeing a trend here. Anyway, the sequel to The Forest is on sale, and if you want a survival-crafting game, this is the one for you. It improves upon everything from the first entry and even adds some companions to make your journey less scary.
6. Tales of Arise – 50% Off
You might think it is weird seeing a game from 2021 on a list of 2023, but there’s a reason why we think it is one of the best deals of the Steam Autumn Sale. This RPG just launched a new expansion that sees the return of all the lovable cast of characters for a new adventure. While the gameplay mechanics remain the same, the new story is great and will be a treat for fans of the series and this colorful cast of heroes.
7. Monster Hunter Rise – 60% Off
Capcom had a great year, well, mostly. While it launched amazing titles such as Street Fighter 6, others were not so great, such as Exoprimal. But one of the best out there still is Monster Hunter Rise. With it receiving its last updates, now’s the perfect time to jump into it and enjoy everything the game has. You can get the Sunbreak expansion, too, if you want to add more hours to your playthrough and some crazy monster-hunting skills.
8. Remnant 2 – 30% Off
Gunfire Games showed us the proper way to make a sequel. Remnant 2 improved everything that worked in the first game by adding more challenges, better archetypes, and a fantastic story in all of the game’s worlds. We recommend getting it because the latest expansion is out, and you can enjoy the base game and the new content that adds a few hours to the already fantastic sequel. If you like Souls games and shooters, this title is for you.
9. Resident Evil 4 Remake – 34% Off
One of Capcom’s best games of the year is undoubtedly Resident Evil 4 Remake. Even if many players were nervous at first because Capcom would take the most beloved game of the franchise and reinvent it, the end result was fantastic. Full of graphical overhauls, new gameplay elements, and great additions to the story, this is the best way to experience this series’ classic title. Plus, the Separate Ways DLC is out, allowing you to see the game’s plot through Ada’s eyes.
10. Persona 5 Royal – 40% Off
Last, we have Persona 5 Royal as one of the best Steam Autumn Sale deals. We decided to include it because Persona 5 Tactica just launched, and Royal is the game that started it all. This is the game to play if you want to meet the Phantom Thieves during their first adventures. However, you’ll spend at least 130 hours to finish this title, so save some time for this highly acclaimed RPG.
As you can see, choosing just one game is challenging, especially when more games are on discount besides these ten. However, we think these are the ones you must play at least once, and most of them are some of the year’s greatest titles. So, prepare your wallet and make your backlog bigger during this sale. Steam’s Autumn Sale ends on November 28.
