One of the best characters you can unlock early in Granblue Fantasy: Relink is Narmaya due to her versatility in terms of builds. Thanks to her skills, she adapts to any situation on the fly. Do you want to do a lot of critical hit damage? She can do it. Do you prefer to protect others and be a sturdy tank? Narmaya’s your girl for the job. This lovely swordswoman combines magic and blade techniques to dominate the battlefield in whatever way she pleases, provided you have the right skills and items, of course.
How To Build Narmaya in Granblue Fantasy: Relink
While Granblue Fantasy: Relink gives you a lot of freedom to choose how to build your characters, we’ve tried two builds that work perfectly for Narmaya. Due to her skills, she can be a damage-dealer or a tank. Whether you like one build or the other will depend on your playstyle. However, we recommend trying both, as certain difficult fights in the game will require you to adapt a bit. But, without further ado, let’s take a look at the first build.
DPS Build
This is a build we imagine many will be running, and why shouldn’t they? It has a lot of damage potential, satisfying critical damage and even some cooldown reductions on the side. But before we delve into the specifics, let’s see which weapon you’ll be carrying to
Weapon: Venustas
The weapon you’ll need to make this build work is Venustas. It becomes available once you unlock Very Hard quests, and it is a fantastic weapon to have on Narmaya. While it might not have the best traits, it provides a flat attack increase, which is more than necessary for this build. Besides, you can add more bonuses if you have the right Wrightstones.
Skills and Sigils
Narmaya might not have the same amount of skills as Gran or Djeeta, but she has enough to make a DPS build work in Granblue Fantasy: Relink. Here are the ones we equipped her with:
- Kyokasuigetsu
- Crescent Moon
- Transient
- Dance of Pink Petals
The trick here is starting the fight with Kyokasuigetsu to close gaps between you and other foes. After that, strive to get as many butterflies as possible. You can do this by landing combo finishers that switch stances. Once you have three or more butterflies, attack with Transient, preferably in Dawnfly stance. Once you break an enemy, trigger Dance of Pink Petals and spam your stance-changing combo. Lastly, for sigils, we recommend these:
- Critical Damage
- Critical Hit Rate
- Tyranny
- Attack Power
- Quick Charge
- Stun Power
Narmaya greatly benefits from Critical Damage because of how fast her attacks are in Flutterfly’s stance. Also, you can swap the Quick Charge Sigil for a Stamina one if you are uncomfortable with the stance-switching combo.
Tank Build
Despite Narmaya being a killing machine, she can be a fantastic tank, too, but we only recommend using this build during boss fights. You’ll be using completely different skills for this and try to equip Narmaya with equipment that make her the sturdiest character in your party.
Weapon: Nakamaki Nodachi
Thankfully, you only need Narmaya’s starter weapon for her tank build in Granblue Fantasy: Relink. While you get other good ones down the road, this one already has an HP boost, which is what we need to make this swordswoman a tank. Plus, you can add Wrightstones if you feel you lack damage or want more protection.
Skills and Sigils
The skill lineup for this build is different, and you’ll be using only defensive abilities and just one damage-dealing one. This means your damage output should come from the stance-switching combo, meaning you need to master it as soon as possible. Here are the skills you must equip:
- Apex of Nothingness
- Utter Devotion
- Dance of Blue Petals
- Setsuna
When fighting, you must make sure to have Utter Devotion up at all times. This skill will aggro enemies, making Narmaya the only tank in the party. If you feel you know the enemy well, prepare Apex of Nothingness before their next attack. Finally, use Dance of Blue Petals when you feel you’re taking more damage than intended and when you need butterflies. Last but not least, follow up with Setsuna to do a good amount of damage with a shorter-charged attack. And, since Sigils are also important, here are the ones you should watch out for:
- Aegis
- Garrison
- Firm Stance
- Nimble Defense
- Drain
- Regen
Contrary to other support builds, we went for a leeching one here. Since the attacks during Flutterfly stance are so fast, you can regain a lot of HP while fighting. Also, you need the Firm Stance Sigil to avoid pushback and stay on top of the enemy at all times.
Personally, we feel the DPS build for Narmaya is more fun, but the tank one is quite useful in boss fights. However, we only recommend using the latter during co-op, especially since how many players prefer to do damage rather than protect others. Ultimately, you can be that versatile hero everyone needs in the game.
