One of the two new Primal Legendaries to make their way into Pokemon Go is Primal Groudon, a Raid Boss with almost a 100K CP. With such a colossal CP value, you can be sure that this Legendary will not go down easily and will require at least six or more experienced Trainers to take down. If the Raid participants entering a Primal Groudon Raid in Pokemon Go have less than ideal picks for dealing damage, then eight or more Trainers might be needed to achieve victory. Whatever the case, you should be prepared for a tough fight in this Primal Raid.

Before considering the best counters for the Primal Groudon Raid in Pokémon Go, it is essential to understand this Raid Boss’s weaknesses. As a Ground- and Fire-type pocket monster, Primal Groudon is strong against Poison-, Bug-, Steel-, Fire-, Fairy-, and Electric-type Moves. On the other hand, Ground- and especially Water-type attacks are highly effective against this Primal Legendary.

When we went up against Primal Groudon in Pokemon Go, we used Excadrill, Chandelure, Mamoswine, Dragonite, Hydreigon, and Metagross. Naturally, these are not the best pocket monsters to deal damage against the Primal Raid Boss, but we still were able to achieve victory because we were with a group of eight Trainers. Conversely, our damage numbers would have been much better if we used the counters below:
