Despite being the main characters that people tend to abandon, Gran and Djeeta are quite versatile in Granblue Fantasy: Relink with the right build. As some of the most versatile crew members in the game, these protagonists can dish out huge amounts of damage or even keep the party protected in the most difficult situations. So, if you used these characters to finish the main story, why not use them to traverse the skies and face some of the game’s most challenging foes?
Recommended Builds for Gran/Djeeta in Granblue Fantasy: Relink
In other titles, people tend to abandon the main character and choose any of the unlockable ones. Truth be told, there are many great crew members you can get early, but sticking with the protagonists isn’t a bad idea. So far, we’ve found out there are two great builds in the game you can use depending on the situation. Do you prefer to do damage, or are you more of a support-type character? Regardless, these Captains work equally well in any role.
DPS Build
Before we delve into specifics, we must say this build is ideal for Hard and Very Hard difficulty. With these skills and weapons, you should be good until you reach Maniac difficulty, and even then, you might only need to upgrade things. With that out of the way, let’s see how to make Gran and Djeeta killing machines in the game.
Weapon: Sword of Eos
It shouldn’t be a surprise that Granblue Fantasy: Relink‘s new iconic weapon for Gran and Djeeta is the best for a DPS build. This weapon gives them an attack boost, and you can even add other Wrightstone traits, such as Critical Hit, to make it even better. The reason why we picked this one over other weapons is because of how easy it is to build in the early game. Once you unlock it, don’t change weapons if you want to make a damage dealer out of the Captain.
Skills
While there are many skills you can unlock for Gran and Djeeta, you can only equip four at a time. Since our goal is to do damage, here are the ones we recommend:
- Decimate
- Reginleiv
- Armor Break
- Rage
When fighting any monster, especially a boss, always focus on getting your Arts level to four. Once there, spam all your skills at a time. Start with Rage, follow up with Armor Break, and then throw Decimate at the enemy. Regeinleiv isn’t bad, but we prefer to use that in situations where an enemy flies or runs away from the party.
Last but not least, Sigils. Focus on the following ones:
- Attack Power
- Critical Hit Rate
- Stun Power
- Critical Damage
- Exploiter
- Quick Charge
Focus on raising each Sigil to at least level three or four and equip them. If you have characters to heal you or taunt enemies, you shouldn’t have to worry about defensive sigils.
Support Build
The next build we have for Gran and Djeeta in Granblue Fantasy: Relink is a support one. You might’ve noticed that in the Defensive Mastery Tree, there are many skills that heal, protect, and buff allies. But also, there are a few that debuff enemies to let other party members do more damage. If you prefer to keep everyone safe while allowing your crew to deal the finishing blow, we have a few options for that.
Weapon: Partenza
Gran and Djeeta’s classic weapon. Initially, you might think this is a bad idea regarding a weapon choice, but the flat HP increase allows the Captains to become a better tank while leaving room for other Wrightstones to buff different stats. Ultimately, we want the main character to take most of the hits, so this one will keep them alive.
Skills
For the support skills, there are a few options, and after trial and error, we found a good balance between keeping everyone alive and also doing a bit of damage to stun enemies faster.
- Overdrive Surge
- Phalanx
- Substitute
- Clarity
Contrary to the DPS build, there isn’t a set rotation here, but if possible, spam Overdrive Surge as much as possible. The other skills are situational, and you should use them whenever an enemy enters its Overdrive state. For your damage, though, you’ll be doing most of it with charged attacks, and for that, here are the Sigils we recommend:
- Charged Attack
- Quick Charge
- Aegis
- Garrison
- Firm Stance
- Provoke
You can ignore Health Sigils here because you’ll be getting the stat increase from your weapon, so you instead focus on other Sigils to boost your other defensive stats.
As you can see, builds for Gran and Djeeta in Granblue Fantasy: Relink can be quite versatile. Furthermore, it is always important to have different load-outs because every quest needs different approaches. Ultimately, you can mix and match some items until you find the right balance for these fearless Captains.
