Himeko stole our hearts when we saw her for the first time in Honkai Star Rail, and she’s done it again with some builds that make her one of the best characters for Pure Fiction. This game mode pits you against hordes of enemies, and having party members who can defeat them fast is crucial. Erudition followers, such as Himeko or the good old Herta, are highly effective in Pure Fiction. But, to make them work, you need the right Relics, Light Cones, and team composition to dominate this permanent activity in the game.
The Best DPS Build for Himeko in Honkai Star Rail: Pure Fiction
Whether you got her on the standard banner or as your 300-pull reward, Himeko is one of the best characters you can build for Pure Fiction in Honkai Star Rail. Contrary to Herta, her follow-up attacks trigger more often, making her the best for any team composition. However, you need the right items to make this fiery leidy dominate the battlefield. Here, we’ve listed the ones we recommend for the Astral Express Navigator.
Light Cones
One would think that Himeko’s best Light Cone for this activity is her signature one, but after some experimenting, we realized it isn’t. You can equip her with other 4-star Light Cones to make the build cheaper and equally destructive. Here are the ones we recommend:
- Geniuses’ Repose (Best): Increases the wearer’s ATK by 16%. When the wearer defeats an enemy, the wearer’s CRIT DMG increases by 24% for 3 turns.
- Night on the Milky Way: For every enemy on the field, increases the wearer’s ATK by 9.0%, up to 5 stacks. When an enemy is inflicted with Weakness Break, the DMG dealt by the wearer increases by 30% for 1 turn.
- The Seriousness of Breakfast: Increases the wearer’s DMG by 12%. For every defeated enemy, the wearer’s ATK increases by 4%, stacking up to 3 times.
The gist is helping Himeko trigger her follow-up attacks as much as possible. To do this, you need to break foes, and there are other better characters for that, hence the Light Cone recommendation. Since you’re on the clock in this game mode, you should focus on inflicting damage fast and keeping this lady’s attack as high as possible.
Relic Sets
For some characters in this mode, you should focus on increasing damage, and that’s why two pieces of different relics work. However, Himeko actually performs better if you give her a complete set with the right stats and a specific Planar Ornament set. Here are the ones you need:
- The Ashblazing Grand Duke (2 Pieces):
- 2-Piece Bonus: Increases the DMG dealt by follow-up attacks by 20%.
- 4-Piece Bonus: When the wearer uses follow-up attacks, the wearer’s ATK increases by 6% every time the follow-up attack does damage. This effect can stack up to 8 times and lasts for 3 turns. This effect is removed the next time the wearer uses a follow-up attack.
- Planar Ornament: Space Sealing Station (2 Pieces)
- 2-Piece Bonus: Increases the wearer’s ATK by 12%. When the wearer’s SPD reaches 120 or higher, the wearer’s ATK increases by an extra 12%.
To make this build work for Himeko in Honkai Star Rail: Pure Fiction, you need to focus on getting her speed stat as high as possible. This will increase her attack, which is great for taking down those pesky weak enemies and letting her pull off follow-up attacks constantly.
Team Comp
Last but not least, you need the right team comp. Himeko can work in two teams. One with another DPS, or one where she’s the sole one and gets some support. Here are the party members we recommend for this game mode:

- Second DPS: Herta/Clara
- DPS/Support: Topaz/Argenti/Guinaifen
- Healer/Tank: Trailblazer (Fire)/Huohuo
It doesn’t matter how you mix and match your party members because Pure Fiction provides some bonuses to increase everyone’s damage. Still, it is important to keep Himeko’s damage output high to take down all enemies quickly. If you’re struggling, don’t be afraid to switch some characters and tackle this engaging instance as often as your patience allows you to.
