While Marksman Rifles in Modern Warfare 2 are typically not suited for fast-paced playstyles, the Lockwood MK2 is an extraordinary exception. When equipped with an optimal loadout, this rifle is capable of lightning-fast ADS, enabling users to zoom in for a one-shot kill and back out within less than a second. Of course, aiming skill and good reflexes play a significant role when wielding the Lockwood MK2 in MW2. However, once players get a feel for this Marksman Rifle, they will be able to achieve one-shot kills after another to attain high-tier Killstreaks in Modern Warfare 2.

Overkill is the first Perk players should consider for the best Lockwood MK2 loadout in MW2. Having a second Primary Weapon to get out of a tight situation is always handy when wielding a firearm with a low fire rate. For the second Perk, Scavenger is useful for ammo sustainment to retain a killing spree.

Focus is an excellent Bonus Perk for the Lockwood MK2 class setup in Modern Warfare 2, as it offers flinch resistance for more steady ADS. Finally, Birdseye and Portable Radar are a choice pair for better knowledge of enemy positions. As for the MK2’s optimal attachments, YouTube content creator Zephy recommends the following:

Slot Attachment Description
Laser ACCU-Shot 5MW Laser
  • Increases Aiming Stability and Aim Down Sight Speed
  • Causes the Laser to be visible in ADS
Optic SP-X 80 6.6x
  • Offers both 6.6x Magnification and 11.0x Magnification
  • Causes Medium Sniper Glint
  • Decreases  Aim Walking Movement Speed and Aim Down Sight Speed
Stock Lockwood Bullseye Stock
  • Increases Crouch Movement Speed, Sprint Speed, and Aim Down Sight Speed
  • Decreases Recoil Control
Comb Lockwood Merciless
  • Increases Sprint to Fire Speed and Aim Down Sight Speed
  • Decreases Aiming Stability and Aim Walking Speed
Guard Lockwood Commando Guard
  • Increases Crouch Movement Speed and Aim Down Sight Speed
  • Decreases Sprint Speed

For equipment, the Stim Tactical is helpful for maintaining momentum when charging through the enemies’ defenses, and the Thermite is good for zoning opponents and covering one’s tracks when pursued. The best secondary/primary firearm for the Lockwood MK2 in Modern Warfare 2 will depend on play preference. For example, those who want extra firepower are advised to use the Lachmann Sub, while those who want to retain the one-shot-kill playstyle of the Lockwood could use another Marksman Rifle, like the SA-B 50.
