Yrliet is a companion you obtain in Act 2 of Warhammer 40K: Rogue Trader. Unlike other companions, Yrliet is an Aeldari who can’t equip conventional human weapons or armor. This means Yrliet will have trouble catching up with established crew members if you don’t know how to build her properly. You also have to find the proper equipment for her. Here are some of the best Yrliet builds in Warhammer 40K: Rogue Trader to bring out her full potential.
Best Yrliet Build Archetypes in Warhammer 40K: Rogue Trader
Yrliet joins your team with the Operative archetype fully mastered. This allows her to go into the following archetypes:
- Assassin
- Bounty Hunter
- Grand Strategist
Being a Grand Strategist isn’t a good fit for Yrliet since she relies on dealing damage from a distance. Other characters such as Cassia perform the support function better than Yrliet can while having natural talents to support them. Yrliet works great as an Assassin, though she can also go into the Bounty Hunter archetype and perform well.
Consider your team makeup before deciding on a class. If your main character is a Bounty Hunter and you have a Vanguard with Abelard or Heinrix, go the Assassin route. Should your party consist of tanks and burst damage, the Bounty Hunter is a good archetype to put in. Yrliet isn’t good in the front lines and you should always pair her with a durable melee character.
Yrliet Skill Paths
Yrliet’s skills as an Assassin and a Bounty Hunter will be different despite their focus on single-target elimination. Assassins focus on lethality and creating weak spots to exploit. Bounty Hunters place exploits from a distance and deal lots of critical hits. Here are the skills you should take as an Assassin and Bounty Hunter:

Here’s a quick recap of the builds:
- Yrliet is better as an Assassin or a Bounty Hunter. Other companions are better suited for the Grand Strategist role.
- As an Assassin, focus on creating openings for your teammates and launching powerful attacks from a distance.
- If you choose the Bounty Hunter route, stack exploits on your target and get as many critical hits as possible.
