Bill Burr has been making a lot of media appearances lately over his criticisms toward the government and corporations, and it was only a matter of time before he butt heads with Elon Musk. Somehow due Burr’s anti-fascist tirades, however, his X/Twitter account got allegedly flagged for inappropriate content.
During a February episode of Monday Morning Podcast, Bill Burr revealed that he was scrolling through his email one day and suddenly noticed that his X/Twitter account got flagged. The funny thing was that he doesn’t even use his X/Twitter account anymore. From thereon, Bill Burr assumed that the flag was due to how he criticized Elon Musk in the past and for emulating Nazi gestures.
And while Burr was certain he criticized Musk outside of X/Twitter, his account still got flagged. Burr’s usage for the aforementioned social media app that Elon Musk owns has notably been lowered this year. In fact, none of his tweets were even political as they were mostly promotions. Hence, the comedian proceeded to further lambast Elon Musk, implying that the censorship was pathetic and that Musk’s hero, Adolf Hitler, was a coward:
In the full podcast, Bill Burr went on to remind everyone that Hitler is one of the worst people in history and that Musk shouldn’t be emulating the Nazi leader’s gestures. Musk drew attention and controversy after reportedly performing a Nazi salute— twice, during Donald Trump’s inauguration ceremony.
Musk has since denied that what he performed was a Nazi salute, but experts chimed in and pressed that the gesture was undeniably negative. Meanwhile, Redditors also joined the discussion and agreed with Bill Burr’s take on Elon Musk, with one Reddit user even dropping a profound comparison, saying that “Without money, Elon would just be a hairless mole rat.”
Burr’s Been Slamming Musk & Rich People for Years
Even before Musk tanked his reputation by performing what appeared to be a Nazi salute, Bill Burr was already firing flak at him. A couple of years ago, Burr was already calling out Musk where he claimed that Musk “is not that smart.”
Aside from criticizing Musk, Burr has also humorously implied his support and admiration for Luigi Mangione and even joked that the man should be freed after insurance companies in California raised their premiums after the L.A. wildfire.
Since then the Bill Burr has been comedically criticizing right-wing politicians, billionaires, and other people in power. Now, however, it appears comedian irked Musk with the billionaire trying to censor Burr on a platform on which he’s not even vocal.
