One of the most anticipated souls-like games of recent years is Black Myth: Wukong, which, thankfully, unveiled an action-packed trailer in Gamescom 2023. This title brings the epic boss fights from the souls-like genre with a terrific art style and some of the best graphics we’ve seen. Yet, it seems Black Myth: Wukong will have more fast-paced combat than other games of the genre. The release date for this highly anticipated game is still uncertain.

Gamescom 2023 gave us a new gameplay trailer of Black Myth: Wukong, which shows how far ahead the game is in development. While we’ve already seen a few things of it before, this time, we got to meet some of the bosses we might face in the game. The gameplay reminded us of how Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice played. It’s uncertain if the developers took inspiration from that title to make Black Myth: Wukong, but if they did, we’re in for a treat.

The gameplay trailer of Black Myth: Wukong in Gamescom 2023 was fantastic, but we’d love to see a release date soon. Yet, we can see why it’s taking so long to finish. Of all games of the genre, this has some of the most impressive graphics, which also makes gamers curious as to how well it’ll run on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S if it ends up launching on said platforms.

If you’re eager to play Black Myth: Wukong, this title might launch in 2024. The latest release window we got was in the Summer of 2024; the exact date is still uncertain, yet we hope it is at the beginning of the season. While you wait, Lords of the Fallen is coming soon, which might give you many hours of souls-like gameplay to satiate your hunger for the genre.
