Call of Duty owes a great part of Black Ops 6‘s success and records to the immersive Campaign featured in this title. Dynamic missions, deep characterization, and a mind-bending narrative are still keeping our minds busy with loose ends. Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Campaign leaves a number of unanswered questions in its story, and here are some of the most important ones that keep me awake every night.
5. Who Is Case?
This is a question that we have right from the start. We’re given some clues and shallow info about the main character of the Black Ops 6 Campaign, but who really is William Calderon?
While all our focus is on Pantheon in Black Ops 6 Campaign, the game keeps reminding us that Case is a subject as important. As the name suggests, William “Case” Calderon is the first to be tested with the Cradle, which was presumed to give its carrier super-soldier capabilities. The project fails, however, with only “Case” surviving as the first test subject.
There are certainly more questions surrounding Case than answers, like who is the woman talking inside his head? Why is Case not killed and kept alive after knowing that the Cradle has negative effects on him? What is the mysterious past between Jane Harrow and Case? As of right now, no one knows, and I hope Treyarch uses this valuable character’s potential in later seasons or maybe in their next games.
4. Who Killed The Harrows? Why?
Jane Harrow joined the CIA only to find details about her parents’ deaths. All we know is that the Harrows are attacked while at home, and little Jane witnesses everything, making the scene a haunting memory for the character.
As we know from the story, Jane does not find anything in the CIA, and the Pantheon doesn’t do a big help either. She even thinks that Adler has killed her parents, which is certainly one of the possibilities. But why? Did Pantheon themselves kill the Harrows?
Getting to know who killed Jane’s parents is one Black Ops 6 Campaign unanswered question, while the real question is why? Maybe her parents were up to some anti-CIA business? That could explain why she wasn’t given any details about it later. The real answer is unknown to us.
3. Is Victor Reznov Really Dead?
This isn’t just an unanswered question about Black Ops 6, but the whole BO series’ mystery. According to what we saw in Black Ops 1, Reznov is captured, but not dead. According to Hudson, he’s surely in Valhalla. And based on the intel files you can find in BO1, the truth is really hidden away from the player.
When the Black Ops 6 trailers were released, I saw Vorkuta and thought that this is it; this is where Treyarch finally solves this death puzzle. At the very least, I thought I’d find an item, a dead body, or a note about Reznov in Vorkuta. But the efforts were clueless, and the question still remains unanswered.
2. Where Is David Mason?
The one and only reference we get for David Mason is where Frank Woods says he wants to raise Alex’s child, “he’s going to need somebody.” Aside from that, nothing is given about David Mason in the Black Ops 6 Campaign. Now the reason I’m asking this question is that David Mason has to be more than 10 when BO6 events take place, and if he’s not with Woods, where is he?
The last time we saw David Mason was in Black Ops 2 flashback missions, where Raul Menendez made Woods kill Alex, and then he brutally finished Jason Hudson with his pendant. Menendez then tells David to find him later when he’s older, and then he disappears until 2025.
1. Is Jackson Caine The Man in The Final Cutscene?
This is one of the most important questions we have after ending the Black Ops 6 Campaign, and it is unfortunately unanswered. By the end of the game, Langley trusts the crew once more, telling them to fight the Pantheon in the shadows. However, the scene that we conclude our Black Ops journey with is a guy sitting in what is presumed to be the CIA headquarters.
This guy is a Pantheon member as Langley is talking about, but who the hell is he? The best guess is Jackson Caine, and it makes a lot of sense. Firstly he looks just like Caine, and secondly, he’s been written into the story as Pantheon if you read his bio.
There are a bunch of theories about the Black Ops 6 ending cutscene, however, some of which are far stretches like Alex Mason, Case, or even crazier, Bell.
