Black Ops 6 is setting records left and right after launch, from adding thousands of subscribers to Game Pass and now it’s the “biggest Call of Duty release ever?” That’s one big statement coming directly from Microsoft itself. The game is rock solid as we mentioned in our review, but the stats are showing an even bigger picture of this title.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 being on Game Pass was one of the biggest concerns as we thought that this game would also end up being on the same level as MW3. A few days after release, however, we can see and feel how Treyarch Studios has outdone itself in bringing forth a revolutionary title that excels in almost every single part and game mode. And for that, the fans have responded, and it is now the greatest Call of Duty release of all time.
First reported by Insider Gaming, the CEO of Microsoft Satya Nadella has stated that Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 has had “the biggest” launch ever in the franchise based on the day one release player count. Another record has also been broken by the Black Ops 6 launch for Game Pass day one release subscribers added to the service, giving all the trophies to the Treyarch developers.
The report comes amid Microsoft’s first-quarter earnings call, and it seems like Black Ops 6 has brought a huge W home for team X. This is while Game Pass prices have been increased a week prior to Black Ops 6‘s release, the $1 trial for Ultimate has been removed, and so far there aren’t any special perks for the Xbox players to claim in the game.
Surprisingly enough, 80% of the Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 sales have been on the PlayStation Store so far, which is quite a big number compared to players who have purchased the game on Xbox, Steam, and Battle.net. In that sense, Activision has been clever not to fully register the game to be an Xbox-exclusive title.
