Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is introducing a new perk system that allows the players to mix the perks of the same category, and get the Combat Specialty bonus. This isn’t like how MW2 used to activate the 4th perk in time, but it’ll give you the option to let go of a different perk to gain more upgrades. Let’s dive into details about all the Black Ops 6 perks revealed in the Call of Duty Next 2024, how they work, and what is the new perk category system implanted in this game.

Black Ops 6 Multiplayer introduces perk categories to the Call of Duty, allowing players to choose from 3 perk classes: Enforcer, Recon, and Strategist. Enforcer are the perks with the red BG, Recon is the ones with blue, and Strategist is the yellow. These perks are separated into 3 different sections from which you can choose up to 3 perks in total:

Perk 1 List

  • Assassin: Enemies on a kill streak get a unique minimap marker and drop Bounty Packs when killed. Pick up the Packs for more scores. (Enforcer)
  • Bruiser: Melee kills and finishing moves replenish health and earn an extra score. (Enforcer)
  • Scavenger: Resupply ammo and equipment from killed enemies. (Enforcer)
  • Ghost: Undetectable by enemy radar ping and UAV when moving, planting, defusing, or controlling Scorestreaks. Undetectable by Prox Alarm. (Recon)
  • Ninja: Move more quietly. (Recon)
  • Flak Jacket: Reduces incoming explosives and fire damage. (Strategist)
  • Tac Mask: Resistance to enemy flash and concussion grenades and enemy neuro gas. (Strategist)

Perk 2 List

  • Gung-Ho: Reduced movement penalties when reloading or using equipment. Reload while Tac Sprinting. (Enforcer)
  • Dexterity: Reduced weapon motion while jumping, sliding, and diving. Take less fall damage. (Enforcer)
  • Engineer: See enemy equipment through walls and enemy scorestreak icons on the minimap. (Recon)
  • Tracker: See enemy footsteps. ADSing auto-pings enemies. Long cooldown. (Recon)
  • Forward Intel: Increases minimap area and shows directions for revealed enemies. (Recon)
  • Dispatcher: Reduced score cost for non-lethal scorestreaks. Stacks with Bankroll. (Strategist.
  • Fast Hands: Swap weapons faster and extend fuses when throwing back grenades. (Strategist)

Perk 3 List

  • Double Time: Greatly increased duration of Tactical Sprint. (Enforcer)
  • Bankroll: Start each life with a +150 score toward Scorestreaks. (Enforcer)
  • Vigilance: Display a HUD icon whenever you appear on enemy minimaps. Immune to CUAV and Scrambler. Immune to Sleeper Agent. (Recon)
  • Cold-Blooded: Undetectable by AI targeting and thermal optics. Player-controlled Scorestreaks don’t highlight you. (Recon)
  • Quartermaster: Recharge equipment over time. (Strategist)
  • Guardian: Faster healing while capturing and holding objectives. Revive downed teammates faster. (Strategist)
  • Gearhead: 2 Field Upgrade charges. Increased Field Upgrade charge rate. Hack enemy Equipment and Field Upgrades. (Strategist)

Now what’s interesting here is that if you pick all your three perks of the same category – Enforcer, Recon, or Strategist – you’ll gain a Combat Specialty bonus which gives you a specific buff.

  • Enforcer Combat Specialty: Killing enemies grants a temporary buff to movement speed and health regen rate.
  • Recon Combat Specialty: Enemies can be seen through walls short after respawn; a HUD edge indicator flashes when an enemy is outside your view; leave no death skulls when killing enemies.
  • Strategist Combat Specialty: Earn a score bonus for objectives and destroying enemy content; see enemy content through walls a short distance; deploy equipment and field upgrades faster.

Overall, the perk system for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is a mix of classic and innovation. I mean putting Ninja and Ghost in the same category and nerfing that Dead Silence effect is exactly what we’ve been asking for. Thank you Treyarch!

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is due to release on October 25, 2024.
