Viz Media announced that Hulu will stream Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War. This new Bleach anime will follow the “Thousand Year Blood War” arc of the Bleach manga (volumes 55-74). Lastly, the anime will also cover the rest of the original manga up to its ending and will be animated by Studio Pierrot.

The show’s returning Japanese cast also includes members who have not appeared in the anime but have appeared in the Bleach: Brave Souls game. Masashi Kudo is returning as the character designer, with Shiro Sagisu returning to compose the music. This announcement follows Viz’s previous statement on Friday. The company confirmed that the original English dub cast will return for Thousand-Year Blood War. This cast includes:
- Johnny Young Bosch as Ichigo Kurosaki
- Michelle Ruff as Rukia Kuchiki
- Derek Stephen Prince as Uryu Ishida
- Stephanie Sheh as Orihime Inoue
- Wally Wingert as Renji Abarai
- Doug Erholtz as Kisuke Urahara
The anime will also run for four cours (quarter of a year) with beaks in between cours. Viz Media will hold the North American premiere at New York Comic COn on October 8th. NYCC also noted that the premiere event will be ahead of the simulcast of the anime.
Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War: An End to a Long Run
Tite Kubo launched Bleach in Weekly Shonen Jump in 2001. It recently saw its in August 2016. Viz Media published the manga in North America digitally as Shueisha published new chapters in Japan. Currently, the manga has 130 copies in circulation. Since its release, the manga inspired a television anime adaptation that ran for 366 episodes.
Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War will begin streaming on Hulu October 10th at 11:30 a.m. EDT. It will also be available on Disney+ for countries outside of the US. Currently, Bleach is not available to stream on Crunchyroll, but is available on Hulu.
