Blizzard is currently working on mobile games for all of its IPs. Yes, that means all of its exclusive games will possibly have a cell phone version! According to Gamespot.com, Blizzard Executive Producer, Allen Adham released this information after the announcement of Diablo Immortal.
That of course, will be a mobile title for the Diablo franchise. Adam says “In terms of Blizzard’s approach to mobile gaming, many of us have shifted from playing primarily desktop to playing many hours on mobile, and we have our best developers working on mobile titles across all our IPs.”
That’s what Allen Adham said that during a BlizzCon 2018 press conference. This news is coming from a current Reddit user. Adham also mentions that each game will have a different form of its development to mobile devices. For example, some games will have external partners, like Diablo Immortal. However, most of them will be developed internally only.
Blizzard currently has four main franchises that are popular with fans. Those games include Diablo, Warcraft, StarCraft and my favorite, Overwatch. I would definitely like to see a mobile variant of Overwatch because it’s one of my favorite games and it’s quite unique.
The gaming company has already enjoyed an array of success when it comes to one particular mobile title. That mobile title is Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft. If you don’t know what it is already, it’s a free-to-play card game that’s based on the Warcraft series.
It originally released on PC before the game became pocket sized for mobile. Now, we don’t know when Blizzard will start developing other mobile games for its exclusives but we can speculate that there will be something to talk about during the next BlizzCon in 2019.
Diablo Immortal doesn’t have a release date as of now. I’m sure Blizzard won’t keep fans waiting.
