Britney Spears may have a comeback in the cards, but an upcoming documentary exploring her addiction and tumultuous career claims her days on stage are long gone. Britney has found herself engrossed in multiple scandals over the last decade, from her conservatorship battle with her father to her repeat incidents of substance abuse raising concerns about her mental health. Weeks back, her family reportedly had to stage an intervention after her concerning behavior began threatening her overall well-being.
Why Britney Spears Won’t Return to the Stage
It appears Britney’s career has also taken a huge hit from these disturbing incidents. Ahead of the release of the docuseries, TMZ Investigates: Britney Spears: The Price of Freedom, TMZgave an insight into what to expect from the documentary, including claims from insiders. One such claim is that she would not take to the stage anytime soon, if ever.
According to the outlet, multiple sources with direct knowledge claimed “touring and concerts” were no longer in the cards for her. Additionally, she has no interest in going back on the stage even after staging her planned comeback. The sources explained that the actress’ decision results from the overwhelming demand of “performing, endless rehearsals and precise learning of choreography” which she just couldn’t handle in her state.
Paul Anka Begs to Differ
Music legend Paul Anka has a different thought on the subject. Speaking to TMZ, the legendary singer described Britney as one of the top 5 performers in the world. Hence, he remained positive that things could change for the songstress and perhaps she would someday command the stage again.
In a previous hint on what to expect from the new Britney Spears documentary, the outlet hit her with more claims of addictions, this time, focusing on her excessive consumption of caffeine resulting in lack of sleep, and her fascination with knives. These latest claims forced the crooner to address the constant attack on her mental health by the media while dispelling the alleged caffeine addiction on Instagram. With the TMZ documentary dropping any day now, this is perhaps only the start of a hectic round of denial for Britney.
