On Saturday, Aug. 5, BTS‘ Suga and Jimin surprised fans by performing “Tony Montana” for the first time in seven years. They last performed the track during BTS’ Third Muster concert in November 2016. Now, after nearly a decade, the duo brought back the song to celebrate the end of Suga’s 2023 tour. Of course, fans are going wild over the performance on Twitter.

BTS’ Suga and Jimin Perform “Tony Montana”

A day before Suga and Jimin hit the stage, the pair teased their performance of “Tony Montana” by rehearsing the song together at Seoul’s KSPO Dome. Fans were outside the stadium hoping to catch a glimpse of any new additions to the setlist when they heard “Tony Montana.” After posting videos of the rehearsal on Twitter, the phrase “Tony Montana” began trending on the platform. Thousands of fans shared their excitement over the possibility that Suga and Jimin would reunite to perform the track.

Suga began his concert by performing new songs like “Haegeum” and “SDL,” as well as older tracks like “Agust D” and “Give It To Me.” Finally, about halfway through his concert, the rapper brought out Jimin to perform “Tony Montana,” which made the crowd erupt in applause and screams.

Suga dropped “Tony Montana” as part of his debut mixtape, Agust D, in August 2016. The track wasn’t on Suga’s setlist throughout his 2023 tour. However, he decided to add it for his second-to-last performance in Seoul. As if hearing “Tony Montana” live again wasn’t exciting enough, Jimin also surprised fans by performing his new single “Like Crazy.”

After five months of hitting the road, the star will wrap up his Suga | August D Tour on Sunday, Aug. 6. The tour began in April with performances all across North America. Since May, Suga has been performing across Asia with concerts in Indonesia, Japan, Thailand, Singapore, and South Korea.

The tour has been in support of Suga’s debut studio album, D-Day, which dropped on April 21. Suga released the project amid BTS’ extended hiatus as some members embark on their mandatory military service.
