Next week, Civilization VI players will be able to download a new DLC pack, the Byzantium and Gaul Pack. The pack will include a few civilizations and leaders, new world wonders, new map scripts, and more.
Included in the Byzantium and Gaul Pack are two civilizations each featuring a new leader. It may come as a shock to you, but the civilizations are Byzantium and Gaul. There’s no way you saw that one coming! We may know both civilizations, but Firaxis Games are keeping tight-lipped regarding other civilization details. For example, we’re still unaware as to who will lead both factions. Thankfully though, two “First Look” videos should answer that and much more. You can expect those before the DLC’s release on September 24.
Byzantium and Gaul
For all the civilization details we didn’t get, there were a few teasers from the Civilization VI team. Byzantium is promised to have a focus on conquest, which can be achieved either militarily or religiously. Gaul will get boosts related to both construction and culture.
As far as extra gameplay additions go, the Byzantium and Gaul Pack introduces two new world wonders, the Biosphere, and the Statue of Zeus. A new map script called The Highlands will bring maps filled with hills and mountains. A new game mode, called Dramatic Ages, is also coming with the DLC and promises to make drastic changes to both dark ages and golden ages.
The Byzantium and Gaul Pack will be available on its own for $8.99. The DLC will be unlocked for players who have purchased the New Frontier Pass for Civilization VI. The New Frontier Pass contains six DLC packs that are releasing this year for Civilization VI. The Byzantium and Gaul Pack is the third of those six packs. With what we know so far, what are you wanting from the next three DLC packs? Let us know in the comments!
