A construction worker in California showed how he and his crew were harassed by an angry neighbor who not only threatened to call ICE on them, but also ruined their concrete work. As a result, the lady was placed under arrest by responding officers.
Roberto de León, who is the CEO of Pinewood Design, shared the clip attached above on TikTok. He frequently shares his landscaping work via vlogs with his 100,000 followers online. With many viral stories under his belt, the one featuring the aforementioned lady became one of his biggest, garnering 1.3 million views, 151,700 likes, and more than 1,500 comments.
The California man went on to say that he and his crew had experienced a “big loss” that day due to the neighbor’s behavior. Since 8 a.m., the neighbor started to get on their nerves, as the clip showed she demanded to see permits. Roberto, of course, had them and showed them to her.
Things escalated shortly after, as the lady, whose name is unknown, threatened to call ICE on Roberto’s crew. The clip shows two disjointed clips of the same statement, in which the woman said that the law enforcement agency would come to the neighborhood to “check all of your legalities.”
Neighbor Arrested
Eventually, the woman called the police. Officers arrived and told her that the house where Pinewood Design was working was not her property. According to Roberto, the police left at first. However, things would escalate moving forward.
Footage shows the California woman brooming dirt in an alley directly at fresh concrete. Roberto can be seen attempting to stop that with his feet, but the woman took offense, saying, “Leave me alone. Get your hands [off me].”
“I then called the police back because now she’s vandalizing our concrete,” he wrote in the clip’s description. “She claimed that I made her bleed and assaulted her, which was a complete lie.”
The police returned once again to the address and can be seen handcuffing the woman. Officers took note of the damage caused by her and also all the footage recorded by Roberto and their crew as proof of her behavior.
And while the neighbor ended up in jail, the damage had already been done. Now, all the concrete must be removed.
California Reacts
The video sparked multiple responses, mainly from viewers who were frustrated and angry at the lady. One said, “Sue her for damages.” Another one commented, “I’m so glad the cops did the right thing and arrested her. Stay strong.”
Other users believed that the woman’s behavior was just a symptom of a very generalized problem. One wrote, “I can’t believe this is the America we live in. So sorry you had to deal with this.” Another one added, “Everyone please vote this November… Please…“
It is unclear if Roberto and Pinewood Design will sue the woman for damages, and he has not shared an update as of the writing of this article.
