Want to know if Cresselia can be Shiny in Pokemon Go? Despite the wide variety of unique Pokemon in the ever-expanding Pokedex, Legendary Pokemon have always been and remain a favorite of the gaming community. And this is especially true if everyone’s favorite Legendary Pokemon has a Shiny version. Luckily, August 2023 offers players tons of legendary encounters in 5-star and Mega raids, and the Cresselia raid is one of them. Although this Pokemon arrived in the gaming world in 2018, many fans ask the same question. Can Cresselia be shiny in Pokemon Go? Here we will answer this question.

Can You Catch Shiny Cresselia in Pokemon Go?

Luckily for Legendary and Space Pokemon fans, the answer is Yes, Cresselia can be Shiny in Pokemon Go. However, the appearance of a unique version of this Pokemon took place a long time ago. As we said earlier, Cresselia arrived in the world of Pokemon Go on November 20, 2018, and already half a year later, on May 27, 2019, this Pokemon received a unique Shiny version. After that, Cresselia visited the gyms twice more as a raid boss, so many players added many copies of this pocket monster to their collections.

However, if you haven’t got Shiny Cresselia yet, now you have a good opportunity. After all, from August 4 to 16, 2023, Cresselia will make a regular appearance in 5-star raids. And each trainer will have plenty of time to catch this Pokemon. The chance of encountering Shiny Cresselia is about 1/20, but first, you must defeat this Pokemon.

As a Psychic-type Pokemon, Cresselia is weak against Bug, Dark, and Ghost-type attacks. You can use any Pokemon with these types of moves or see the best movesets and counters for Cresselia. But if you’re looking for a quick tip, here are a few Pokemon that are effective in this fight:

  • Gengar: Shadow Claw, Shadow Ball.
  • Tyranitar: Bite, Brutal Swing.
  • Hydreigon: Bite, Brutal Swing.
  • Darkrai: Snarl, Dark Pulse.
  • Chandelure: Hex, Shadow Ball.
  • Volcarona: Bug Bite, Bug Buzz.

What Does Shiny Cresselia Look Like?

As for the appearance of Shiny Cresselia, it is quite a bit different from the classic version of this Pokemon. All pink elements on the body of this Pokemon take on a greenish-blue hue. At the same time, the dull purple back becomes a bright purple. Both versions of this Pokemon are very colorful and beautiful, but only the classic version looks like a sunset, while the Shiny version resembles the bright northern lights.
