There are a wide range of monster-like creatures you can associate yourself with in the Elder Scrolls universe. Fans of Skyrim had their hand at becoming a werewolf as part of Companions of Jorrvaskr in Whiterun. So, now that the remaster for Oblivion Remastered is out, did the devs transfer that into the game? How many different kinds of monsters can you turn into in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered?
Becoming a Werewolf in Oblivion Remastered
No, you cannot become a werewolf in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered. Unfortunately, the only way to do so is by installing a werewolf mod into the game. The original game didn’t have werewolves either, so it’s no surprise that they weren’t added into the remaster. At the end of the day, it’s a remaster, not a remake.
Fortunately, you still have the chance to become a demon or a vampire, giving you that same, unnatural thirst you’re likely looking for. Hopefully, modders will save the day and create that capability sooner rather than later. Otherwise, you’ll need to head back to Skyrim or Morrowind to have that same experience.
Which Games Can You Be a Werewolf?
There are still a couple of other games in the series where you can enjoy turning into a werewolf, including:
- Daggerfall allows you to become infected with the curse of the werewolf or the curse of the wereboar.
- Morrowind added werewolves in the Bloodmoon DLC after the initial launch.
- Skyrim has werewolves hiding beneath the ground of Whiterun.
- The Elder Scrolls Online also gives players that chance to turn into a werewolf.
So, let’s hope that a modding community *cough* TESRenewal modding group *cough* will step up to the plate and make it happen.
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is available to play on PC, PS5, and Xbox.
