Canada’s A&W Takes a Shot at Illinois-Based McDonald’s CEO as the Fast Food Burger War Gets a New Contender: ‘This Guy Came In Strong’

Canada just entered the burger war

No one expected a CEO’s strange burger bite to spark a fast-food feud, but that’s exactly what’s unfolding three months into 2026. A&W Canada released a parody video that goes straight for McDonald’s Illinois-based CEO Chris Kempczinski, and people online say it’s the boldest move yet in this whole burger CEO showdown.

A&W dropped a parody video on their socials starring Allen Lulu, the guy who has been their pitchman for a long time, and they nailed every detail. Lulu rolled up in a blue shirt and sweater that looked almost exactly like what Kempczinski wore in his original clip.

Then he grabbed an A&W Teen Burger and started rattling off this hilariously bland, corporate-sounding review. He even called it a “burger product” and just labeled the lettuce as “green.” The best part is that Lulu took a huge, confident bite, lifted the burger toward the camera, and wrapped things up by inviting the McDonald’s CEO to lunch. “See you at lunch, Chris,” he said, grinning.

Everything kicked off when McDonald’s CEO dropped a video from his office in Illinois, hyping up their new Big Arch burger. He called it a “product,” awkwardly tried to figure out how to hold the thing, and then took what everyone online agreed was probably the smallest, saddest bite anyone has ever taken on camera.

The video blew up right away. Not surprisingly, the rest of the fast food world jumped in. Burger King’s president struck back first, taking a huge, confident bite of a Whopper like he had been waiting for this moment. Then Wendy’s Ohio president chimed in with his own video, making sure everyone knew about their fresh, never-frozen beef. Now, A&W Canada has joined the chat, too.

Social media users couldn’t get enough of it. Users jumped into the comments, calling it the best corporate clapback all week. Some even said A&W pulled off what Burger King and Wendy’s couldn’t: they actually made it funny. And with every fast food chain joining in, McDonald’s just keeps looking worse.

The clip quickly drew amused reactions online, with many viewers praising the energy behind the performance. “This guy came in strong!” one person wrote. Another added, “I gotta say, I know this is getting old, but he so far has been the most enthusiastic.”

Some comments focused on the brand itself. “Anyways trust me when I say that their burgers are genuinely *expletive* amazing. They DAMN WELL earned their second place in Canadian fast food chains because their quality control is unlike any other,” one user said about A&W Restaurants. Another simply wrote, “This wins. A&W rules.”

Others turned the conversation into a fast-food rivalry. “I will inhale a double double animal style if In-N-Out ever needs me to make one of these,” a comment read, referencing In-N-Out Burger. Another joked, “Dont come to europe haha.”

Some viewers just enjoyed the humor. “This guy is hilarious and definitely the most normal and relatable. Also the whole bun thing was pretty funny,” one person wrote. Meanwhile, another compared it to past ads, adding, “The first time I saw the McDonald’s commercial I legitimately thought they may have tried to make it so bad that it would go viral. I still have no idea if it was intentional or not.”

Now, the burger CEO fight has a life of its own, after it started in Illinois. It all started with a promo for a sandwich, but somehow, it turned into the week’s most entertaining corporate drama. One chain after another lined up to take their shot. A&W might have just scored the best one yet, armed with nothing but a Teen Burger and an invitation to lunch.
