Christie Brinkley is ready to share the ups and downs of her life as a supermodel. Throughout her lifetime, she has kept a detailed journal documenting her journey. Now, at age 71, she is set to reveal her personal story in her new tell-all memoir, Uptown Girl.
Christie admits her life has been anything but easy. She wants everyone to know the life of a model is not all glitz and glamour, at least not in her experience. At age 18, she began her career after she was discovered by a photographer in Paris.
More than five decades into the future, Christie Brinkley has appeared on over 500 magazine covers throughout her career. She is best known as the face of Cover Girl makeup and as one of Sports Illustrated‘s most popular swimsuit models appearing on the cover for three consecutive years from 1979-1981.
Christie has not only experienced a long and successful modeling career, but she has also enjoyed an equally successful career in acting in television and film. In 2011, Brinkley made her stage debut as Roxie Hart in the long-running musical Chicago for 182 stage performances.
Brinkley admits that her years in the modeling business have left her with plenty of juicy tidbits to spill. Sources close to the model tell In Touch Christie puts herself out there with her book. She found the writing process very cathartic. It not only allowed her to face many demons but to deal with years of heartbreak.

This is what I’ve always tried to do, not through fortune or fame. But by saying yes to adventure and trying to find the magic in every moment, no matter how big or how small.”
Christie also opens up about her love life, revealing the joy and the pain. Brinkley admits throughout every relationship, she has learned many lessons. She claims she is not looking for revenge.“Of course, there are certain people who have done her wrong over the years that are going to get blasted,” the insider adds.
Brinkley has been married four times. Her most famous union was with singer Billy Joel and most recently with architect Peter Cook. She claims her marriage to Cook nearly destroyed her. However, Christie speaks highly of Bily Joel, describing their time together as a beautiful, yet heartbreaking love story.
