Sony Santa Monica, developer of the God of War games, has announced the launch of God of War 3 remastered for the Playstation 4 at a gameplay resolution of 1080p and a target of 60 frames per second. This version marks the series’ brutal hack-and-slash star Kratos’ debut on PS4, celebrating ten glorious years of the franchise.
The epic action adventure originally launched on PS3 back in March 2010 and cultivated wondrous awe with its stunning graphics even at 720p. One can imagine how magnificently striking the visuals will be at 1080p.
The director and scriptwriter of God of War 2, Cory Barlog, ended the announcement with a line foreshadowing the franchise’s possible future: “Should we toast to another ten years? Will there be another ten years? Hmm…”
Could the remastering of God of War 3 for PS4 only be the beginning of a whole new series of God of War games?
God of War 3 Remastered will be releasing this year on July 14 in North America and July 17 in the UK.
