Courteney Cox has gone viral as she recreates the iconic Friends Thanksgiving scene on Instagram and shares the video less than one month after the death of Matthew Perry. The sitcom star updated her account in honor of Thanksgiving 2023, recreating the legendary scene showing on-screen character Monica Geller dancing with a turkey on her head in the presence of Perry’s character, Chandler Bing.
Recreating the scene decades after the 1994-2004 sitcom ended, Courteney delighted fans, however touching comments quickly came in as fans continue to mourn the October 28 passing of Matthew Perry.
Courteney Cox Goes Full Turkey For ‘Friends’ Recreation
Cox shared footage of the initial moment fans saw her shaking her hips on the Friends set and with the raw turkey on her head. At the time, on-screen characters Monica and Chandler were getting closer, and it was this scene seeing Chandler admit that he love Monica.
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!” the actress said. “Hope you’re having a great day. I’m feeling so thankful.”
“And also, if I get one more goddamn gif with a turkey on my head dancing like a f—ing fool, I’m just going to snap,” she added.
Asked Where Chandler Bing Is
In her home recreation, Courteney shook her stuff from her own kitchen while rocking a green t-shirt. On her head, there was, indeed, a massive raw turkey. The actress had even added a pair of shades on the turkey, just like the one she wore back in the day.
“Flashback to 3 years ago…Probably won’t do that again. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!” she wrote in a caption.
Matthew’s passing is still on everyone’s minds. Honoring the late actor was a fan replying: “But where is Chandler Bing? 😢😢” Perry died at the age of 54 last month after being found unresponsive in his hot tub.
“Matt is laughing up there right now,” another fan said. A third user added that Chandler wasn’t “here” to see it.
Cox joined the remaining Friends costars in both delivering a heartfelt tribute to Matthew and in attending his private funeral. Toxicology reports are still pending to determine the actor’s actual cause of death.
On November 14, Cox took to Instagram to deliver a personal tribute to Perry, saying that she is “grateful” for “every moment” the two shared together and that she misses him “every day.”
