At their E3 press conference, Bethesda announced the first-person shooter Deathloop. This impressive-looking shooter is being developed by Arkane Studios, who is perhaps best known for making Dishonored. Check out the announcement video below if you haven’t already:

Set on the fictional island of Blackreef, this mysterious location offers its denizens the ability to die and then come back to life in a continuous cycle (hence the title, Deathloop). You play an assassin trying to kill another assassin on the same island – and that is where the chaos ensues.

The idea, it would seem, is to track down and kill the other assassin before they kill you. This suggests the game will offer a range of strategic avenues for players to hunt down their rivals. The trailer is mainly a cinematic however and offers no significant gameplay details.

What do you think of Deathloop so far? Let us know in the comments below.
