There are very few racing games that catch my interest, and only two that have ever kept me hooked for more than a few hours. One of those is Split/Second, a racing game from years ago that offered a unique mechanic. I miss that game sometimes. The other game though is Descenders, for all its downhill mountain biking and ragdoll goodness. Today, more players get to experience the joy that is that game. Sold Out and No More Robots are happy to announce that Descenders is now available on PlayStation 4. You can find the launch trailer for the title below.
Descenders takes your classic mountain biking game and makes it much more accessible for the casual player. It takes away some of the depth of the genre to put in simpler, tighter controls and a great soundtrack to boot. Drum and bass has always been one of my favorite music genres, so listening to that while flying down hills is always a joy. This, combined with plenty of levels and tons of customization, help to separate Descenders and give it a unique feel like no other. The game is available on PC, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and now PlayStation 4.
Quite frankly, a game like Descenders is born to be on controller. The shape and design make it feel so much better, and like you’re more in control. PS4 users should find it a joy to play. Mike Rose, Company Director at No More Robots, believes so as well:
We’re so excited to finally get Descenders into the hands of PlayStation 4 gamers today. It’s been a long time coming, but we know it’s going to have been worth the wait!”
I’d love to hear your thoughts on this release though. Will you pick up Descenders on PS4? What are your thoughts on racing games as a whole? Let us know, and stay tuned at The Nerd Stash for all your news, reviews, and more!
