From Event Cards to cosmetics, here’s everything we know about the Destiny 2 Solstice of Heroes 2022 event.

Destiny 2: Solstice 2022 Event Start Date
Back on May 19th, This Week at Bungie blog post, Bungie confirmed that the 2022 Solstice of Heroes Event will start on July 19th, 2022, as part of Season 17: Season of the Haunted. Keeping in mind the Destiny 2 weekly reset schedule, Destiny 2 2022 Solstice should start around 6 PM BST/10 AM PT/1 PM ET. Typically Solstice of Heroes lasts for four weeks, ending on a Tuesday following the Destiny 2 weekly reset schedule.
In the same blog post, the developer also mentioned that the event has been renamed; the “of Heroes” part is now dropped, and it’s now called only “Solstice.” Nevertheless, even with a new name and decorations in the Tower, those familiar with past events should still feel right at home.
Bonfire Bash Activity in the EAZ
Destiny 2 Solstice 2022 event is adding a new Activity called Bonfire Bash, which will be available in the European Aerial Zone (AEZ) area. Here, Guardians are tasked to build and stock “paracausal bonfires” while waves of enemies, including Taken, Cabal, Hive, and Fallen, will attempt to extinguish the fires. The EAZ also has been tweaked with the addition of floating islands and the removal of building-barriers “for maximum maneuverability.”
Destiny 2: Solstice 2022 Event Cards Explained
Another fun activity you can grind for during the 2022 Solstice is completing the Event Cards. Think of it like a Solstice-exclusive version of the Seasonal Challenges. When Solstice begins, players will have access to the Event Card and brand new unlockables, such as:
- Event Challenges:
- List of objectives that can be completed during Solstice 2022.
- All will be available from the start and can be completed in any order.
- Rewards players with items as well as Event Tickets.
- Event Seals and Titles:
- Individual Event Seals:
- Completed by finishing all the Event Challenges on its Event Card.
- Finishing every Event Challenge will automatically earn you Seal progress and unlock the title for that Seal.
- Seals can be gilded by completing other Triumphs that will only become available once the standard Seal has been completed.
- Multi-Event Seal:
- Multi-Event Seals are acquired by completing Event Challenges in each of the four-yearly Destiny events.
- The earliest players can complete the multi-event Seal will be in the 2023 Guardian Games.
- Seals can be gilded later after completing the standard version.
- Individual Event Seals:
Unique Event Rewards
All players can access each Event Card for free by talking with Eva Levante in the Tower or through the Quests page (right next to Seasonal Challenges). Event Cards can be used to unlock Challenges and Rewards during the duration of the event; once the event is over, they will vanish.
Even though the majority of the Event Cards are free, you need to upgrade the Event Cards, each for roughly 3,000 Silvers, to unlock special cosmetics. Here are some Solstice 2022 Event Card unlockables that Bungie has officially listed:
Description | Item Type | Need Tickets? |
Hot Dog Eating Champ | Exotic Emote | No |
Sunny Exotic Ghost Shell | Exotic Ghost Shell | No |
TBA | Exotic Ship | Tickets |
Iris Gossamer | Legendary Shader | No |
Skateboarding Emote | Legendary Emote | Tickets |
TBA | Legendary Ghost Hologram | Tickets |
TBA | Legendary Ghost Hologram | Tickets |
TBA | Legendary Transmat FX Tickets | Tickets |
Still, Bungie mentioned that while the rewards are only available through the Event Card during their initial release, like most cosmetics, there is a chance they’ll become available again via Eververse sometime in the future.
Destiny 2: Solstice 2022 Armor and Items
In the blog post, Bungie also wrote that they have changed the armor experience by “a lot.” You will now only need to upgrade one set of Solstice armor throughout the event since upgrading them will allow you to reroll their stats. Interestingly, even if you’re getting multiple instances of the same helmet, the stat potential of the armor will be shared across those drops.
Talking about gears, of course, this year’s Solstice will once again introduce new armor ornaments. Thanks to the leaks from various Destiny 2 community sites, we already know what to expect from the 2022 Solstice of Heroes event. Aside from the Class armor, various unique Eververse items are also available to grab. Below is the list of the armor names, their thumbnail icons, and previews of upcoming Eververse items:
- Titan: Candescent Prism set.
- Warlock: Scintillant Prism set.
- Hunter: Phosphorescent Prism set.
And that’s all for now! We will update this article once more info about Destiny 2‘s Solstice of Heroes 2022 event has been dropped all over the internet.
