Just make sure you do it in the right order

With all the new Transcendence, Light and Darkness, and even Prismatic mechanics appearing in Destiny 2: The Final Shape, it’s also a given that some of the mission puzzles are going to be a bit different, and honestly, kind of confusing if you don’t know what you’re doing. The mission Exegesis was a fun one, don’t get me wrong, but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t wander around the main puzzle room for at least ten minutes before I figured out what I was supposed to be doing. However, with my newfound knowledge, I’ll make the puzzle a bit easier for you with a step-by-step breakdown of it.

For this portion of the Exegesis mission, you’ll need to make sure that all four of the Founts of Light and Darkness are flowing. If you’re anything like me, you probably jumped in and started filling the Founts with the proper nodes as soon as you started killing enemies, but that’s not quite the way things will work here.

Untangle Founts

More specifically, you need to untangle each of the Founts in order. That’s where I went wrong. Each of the Founts, after placing your motes in the previous Fount, will display beams of light on top of them. The trick here is to pay attention to how many beams are on each Fount. These will display the order in which you need to be untangling them. In order, each Fount will display one, two, three, and finally, four beams of light.

The first Fount you will untangle will be a Light Fount that can be found on a wall, while the second will be of Darkness, then Light, and finally Darkness again. After untangling each of them in order, you’ll be able to progress and find Ikora.

Jordan is an experienced fantasy writer who spends hours behind her laptop, and lost in the pages of a book. She strives to be a successful gaming blogger, and has no complaint about the hours of game time she used to increase her knowledge of all things “geek”. She primarily writes gaming articles and fantasy novels. Ark: Survival Evolved is a favorite, along with Diablo 3, Warframe and Minecraft lately, though you can’t forget the good old Magic the Gathering card game! Writing about games truly gives her joy as it gives her another perspective to look at games from, a reason to really look into the mechanics of the game.
