When launching in Destiny 2 for the first time after Update 7.3 goes live, you immediately start the Final Wish quest. The Final Wish is a precursor to the big seasonal quest that updates weekly, and only needs to be completed a single time. However, it can be fairly time consuming, and it’s important to pay attention to the cutscenes and dialogue to learn what’s going on with the Season of the Wish. Some parts might be a bit sketchy, while others might be so simple that you’ll fly through them in the blink of an eye.
All Quest Steps
There are only two steps required to complete the Final Wish quest in Destiny 2:
- Complete the “Final Wish” mission
- Debrief with Mara Sov in the H.E.L.M.
How To Complete the Final Wish Mission in Destiny 2
Your main goal here is to conjure Riven in the Dreaming City, given that any hope of pursuing the Witness relies on the last of the Ahamkara, which we found at the end of the Season of the Witch. First, we must enter the Dreaming City.
Enter through the door and make your way to the Keep of Voices. You’ll pass through some winding passages and finally make your way up a staircase that leads to the Hall of Two Souls. Here, you’ll come across a few Vex enemies that you must defeat in order to progress to Riven’s Resting Place.
First, you must take out the Vex enemies surrounding the doorway. There will be quite a few Minotaurs and Goblins, which should be pretty easy to take down with a decent weapon. You’ll probably notice that the doorway is still blocked and shielded by Vex devices though. In order to get through them, you must defeat the Vex Gatekeeper Minotaurs and then break the devices that are shielding the Gateway, including two Quantum Cyclops.
Once you make it through the Gateway, Petra will let you know that there are some more Vex surrounding Riven’s remains, so be prepared for a bit bigger fight.
Follow the waypoint leading to Riven’s Resting Place, and start picking off enemies as you find them. There will be a couple of Quantum Harpies right when you spawn in, but they can easily be picked off. The main gate will be blocked, so you’ll have to traverse the hallways around the side of the gate to get to the resting place, where you’ll face many enemies and find some more Vex devices blocking doorways. You’ll need to defeat a Gatekeeper Wyvern to get through the gateway this time, so watch your back, as they can hit much harder than Minotaurs.
Follow the waypoint once more to make it back to where Riven’s remains are in the Queenswalk, and take out the Vex that spawn in and awaken when you approach. There will be a pretty decent onslaught of enemies here, all trying to make their way toward Riven. You must defend Riven’s Remains. You’ll encounter more Quantum enemies in the form of Wyverns and Hobgoblins, and Harpies this time, but they should be easy enough to defeat.
Once the Vex are defeated, collect the Ahamkara Tooth from Riven’s remains and follow the Waypoint to the next area. You must find the Techeuns and leave Riven’s Tooth with them. A cutscene will begin after you hand over the tooth, and will lead into the next portion of the quest.
The next portion of the quest requires you to head into the H.E.L.M after making the Final Wish and go down the stairs to the right to find and speak with Mara Sov, completing the Final Wish Quest.
