Today on the Devolver Digital YouTube channel, the company has released a trailer for the upcoming game, KarmaZoo. This game appears to be a unique approach to the platformer genre and brings with it many new innovations. As with the case for many other Devolver-published games, like Enter the Gungeon, this game seems to be extremely creative, with a lot of heart and soul behind a wonderful concept.
Pasta Games Teams Up With Devolver Digital
The new chaotic platformer, KarmaZoo, is being developed by PastaGames. This company is responsible for popular games like Rayman: Legends and ARKANOID – Eternal Battle. Additionally, Devolver Digital will be publishing the game. Some of Devolver’s other credits include Gato Roboto, Gunbrella, Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout, and Cult of the Lamb. Devolver seems to pride itself on publishing very unique games, and it appears to be continuing this pattern with PastaGame’s KarmaZoo.
KarmaZoo is A Wacky Cooperative Platformer
KarmaZoo is a cooperative platformer that tasks up to 10 random players from around the world to work together and navigate through levels. Each animal players can use will have different strengths and weaknesses that help navigate the levels. In addition, to succeed, the entire group must use each of their individual strengths to conquer each challenge. By doing good things, such as sacrificing your character to make a platform other players can pass, players earn Karma, which will help unlock new characters and abilities.
So far, KarmaZoo has shown off many abilities and characters. This includes a spider that can create webs to climb on, an elephant, a wold, a whale, a strange alien creature, and many more. However, this system seems as if it could provide easy updates to add new characters in the future. For example, new wacky animals or cross-over characters from other Devolver properties might be fun additions. You can watch the KarmaZoo game trailer here:
KarmaZoo’s release is coming in the Summer of 2023. The game will launch for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Switch.
