It’s time of the year again for the Diablo 4 community, but this time, it’s more special. Diablo 4 Season 4 has also graced us with the Loot Reborn update and the game now plays much smoother. Leveling is faster, but you’ll still want a structured leveling guide so you can zoom past World Tier 2 even faster. Try out our Diablo 4 Season 4 leveling guide and methods to level up fast this season.
D4 Season 4 Leveling Guide Progression (1-50)
[Updated on May 16, 2024 – Revised the leveling methods based on Season 4 changes]
This progression guide is for solo players or those who don’t belong in a Leveling Clan. Otherwise, you can just ask your higher-level Leveling Clan members or friends to carry you past the Capstone Dungeons and higher-level areas.
Right away, Diablo 4 Season 4 will chuck you into the thick of things and tell you to join the Helltides. This is great advice and you’ll want to soak your newly-created character in Helltides.

Diablo 4: Legacy Items ExplainedHelltide enemy density and spawn rate are much higher. In fact, you can even ignore the Seasonal quest or content about the Iron Wolves and just join Helltides one after another (there’s a 5-minute break per Helltide location). This is one of the fastest ways to level up solo in Diablo 4 Season 4.
Additionally, you’ll want to use the following techniques and tips to reduce the number of your clicks.
- Always use Elixirs during Helltides. They drop much more frequently now and you don’t need to conserve them. Each one usually gives additional experience gained.
- Party up. Like Elixirs, parties give experience bonuses.
- Use fast leveling builds or classes such as:
- Minion Necromancers
- Incinerate Sorcerer
- Barrage Rogue
- Park your character near Accursed Rituals. These are summoning areas for the new Helltide Bosses. Join the fight as soon as someone summons the boss.
You’ll want to keep doing this until you reach Level 30 or so, after that, you can move on to a riskier leveling prospect– if you can.
Try the WT3 Capstone Dungeon Starting at Level 30
It doesn’t matter what your class or build is. The game is now considerably easier compared to the previous Seasons. In my case, I was able to clear the World Tier 3 Capstone Dungeon and boss at Level 30 and thus move on to World Tier 3 despite the Level 50 recommendation.
A Level 30 character playing on a Level 50+ Zones and getting Level 50+ loot will no doubt level up much faster.
In case your character can’t handle the Capstone Dungeon at Level 30, there’s no shame in it, try again or level up and Temper your weapons and armor. You might even level up in your attempts to finish the Capstone Dungeon prematurely.
Once you’ve broken through to World Tier 3 much earlier, stay there and keep doing Helltides and Accursed Rituals until you get to Level 50+.
D4 Season 4 Leveling Guide Progression (51-100)
Once you get to Levels 50 or higher, you have several avenues for further leveling as the Helltides experience gain can slow down past that point.
Try out the following activities to level all the way to 100.
Push to World Tier 4 If You Can
Just like how you broke through WT3 at Level 30 instead of 50, you can also try to push through to WT4 at Level 50+ instead of waiting until you’re Level 70.
This way, you can gain even more experience in a higher level area and your gear farming is more comfortable with Ancestral items.
Stronghold Resetting
Strongholds are marked on the map and these are Level 50-60+ clearing missions with hordes of enemies. You don’t have to finish them and clear them on your first try. That’s not the ideal way to level up in Strongholds. Here’s the process:
- Clear the enemies and the boss, or whatever mechanic is present in the Stronghold.
- Pick the loot up.
- Don’t rekindle the Wanderer Shrines. Leave the game instead.
- Log back in with the same character.
- Repeat steps 1 to 4.
Strongholds typically contain higher-level enemies, and you can farm them indefinitely as long as you don’t rekindle the Wanderer Shrine.
Run Nightmare Dungeons
Nightmare Dungeons with a significantly higher level of enemies compared to your character follows the same principle as pushing to the next World Tier prematurely in our Diablo 4 Season 4 leveling guide.
You want to level up faster by slaying more dangerous enemies. At the same time, you’ll also be leveling your Glyphs in the process.
Run the Pit and Other Endgame Content
Your build will typically be done at Level 80-90 and at that point, you should be ready to face the toughest content in the game. The Pit will be available to you along with several Uber bosses
If you want to try them out earlier, then go ahead. That means you can get fancier items to make the leveling process faster as well. Do take note that leveling from 90 to 100 is slower since you need more experience than you have ever accumulated or so. Still, Season 4 won’t end until August, so you have plenty of time.
Diablo 4 is available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox X/S.
