This article is over 2 years old and may contain outdated information.

Struggling to push Nightmare Dungeons to Tier 100 is a thing of the past now as new and deadlier challenges in Diablo 4 have arisen. Apart from The Pit and the Tormented bosses, another endgame challenge in Diablo 4 would be none other than the Gauntlet. It’s also Diablo 4‘s dedicated Leaderboard or Ladder, where the best of players compete for the top spot in pushing and clearing an endgame area. This is, thus, a Gauntlet guide for Diablo 4 Season 4 to help you earn your place in the Leaderboards or Ladder.

What Is the Gauntlet? Explained

The Gauntlet in Diablo 4 is an endgame dungeon that prioritizes speed-clearing or speedrunning.

Some quick facts are in order before you start the Gauntlet so you can determine whether you’re ready for it at a glance.

All Gauntlet enemies are Level 125.
You have eight minutes to clear the Gauntlet per attempt (attempts are unlimited).
You need to earn as many Gauntlet points as you can before the timer runs out.
Slaying enemies or opening chests will reward Gauntlet points.
Gauntlet Ladders reset weekly.

It’s that simple, really. At the end of every Gauntlet attempt, you can view the Ladder or Leaderboards. It shows how the other players fared in their own attempts. The Gauntlet’s Leaderboards are divided into different categories.

Each Diablo 4 class is its own category in the Diablo 4 ladder. Additionally, parties of two, three, or four are also separated into their own categories.

Apart from a chance to inscribe your name on the weekly Gauntlet Ladder, there are also gear rewards.

To get to the Gauntlet, you need to unlock certain areas in the game. Follow these instructions to get started:

  1. Make sure Gea Kul is unlocked.
  2. Go to Gea Kul’s main waypoint.
  3. Head to the end of the dock area in Gea Kul. You’ll see the Horn of Trials.
  4. The Horn of Trials is your entrance to the Gauntlet. Click on it to click on ‘Start.’
  5. You can also attempt this with Friends or party members.

After that, you just have to slay as many enemies as fast as you can before the timer runs out. Also, make sure to pick up the enemy drops as these can contribute toward your Gauntlet points.

Tips for the Gauntlet in D4

If you want to perform well or increase your chances of getting near the top of the Ladder, try out these tips.

  • Make sure your build is complete (Level 100 at least) with BiS (best in slot) gear.
  • Sorcerer and Barbarian generally clear the Gauntlet faster.
  • Use skills with a large AoE.
  • Use gear that increases your Movement Speed.
  • Don’t backtrack for chests; keep moving to enemy clusters.
  • Always activate the special shrines.
  • Don’t forget to use Elixirs and Incense.

You’ll be in the top 10 in the Diablo 4 Gauntlet Ladder in no time, hopefully.

Diablo 4 is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC.
