Disney has been an unstoppable force for decades, but it seems in recent years they have their hands in many of the biggest franchises in the world. Continuing on from the success of Pixar’s original I.P. and Marvel’s cinematic universe. While also bringing new life into the Star Wars series and reimaging’s of their past animated classics. So let’s take a look at all the films coming from Disney’s many branches.
When it comes to Marvel, Thor: Ragnarok is set to be the next big hit. Directed by Kiwi Taika Waititi (who rose to fame through Boy and Hunt for the Wilderpeople), Ragnarok looks to add a stylistic take on Thor and Hulk like we’ve never seen before. It releases on November 7th. Going on from there in 2018 we have Black Panther on February 16th, Avengers: Infinity War on May 4th and Ant Man and the Wasp of July 6th. Into 2019 we have Captain Marvel on March 8th and the sequel to Infinity War on May 3rd.
Switching over to the Star Wars universe we have Star Wars: The Last Jedi releasing December 15th of this year. From the teasers we’ve seen, Luke Skywalker himself could spell the end of the Jedi Order. But what will take their place? May 25th, 2018 will bring us the Han Solo spinoff film, May 23rd, 2019 will give us episode 9 and round off the new trilogy and 2020 will give us a possible Boba Fett film.
Pixar has a variety of sequels releasing in the next 5 years or so. The brand new Coco starts things off on November 22nd of this year, followed by The Incredibles 2 on June 15th, 2018, then Wreck-it Ralph 2 on November 21st, with Toy Story 4 and Frozen 2 releasing in 2019.
Disney is also remaking many of their enchanting animated classics in live action form. We’ve already seen Beauty and the Beast and the Jungle Book but over the next few years, you can also expect Aladdin, Christopher Robin, a Cruella prequel, Dumbo, The Lion King and The Little Mermaid amongst much more.
It’s unbelievable how many amazing films the company has on the horizon and how far their reach extends over the film industry. For everything on Disney, stay tuned to the site.
