With the release of The Last of Us, Twisted Metal, and now Gran Turismo, 2023 might be the year for great adaptations of PlayStation franchises. Gran Turismo, directed by Neill Blomkamp, is set to release on August 25, 2023. The movie follows the true story of driver Jann Mardenborough (played by Archie Madekwe), who started his professional career after competing in a Gran Turismo competition, going from gamer to racer. The film stars Archie Madekwe, David Harbour, Orlando Bloom, and Djimon Hounsou, and if you would like to know what we thought of the film, you can go here to read our review. The runtime of Gran Turismo cruises at a slightly too-long 134 minutes, so you might want to go to the bathroom right when the credits begin to roll. Let’s take a look at Gran Turismo, and whether or not it has any post-credits scenes.
Is There a Post-Credits Scene in Gran Turismo?
Right when the movie ends there is a montage that compares the events and characters in the movie to their real-world counterparts, showing you what Mardenborough actually looks like. The montage also lets you know what he’s up to now, including that he did stunt driving for Madekwe in Gran Turismo. But other than that, there is nothing to see during or after the film’s credits.
Gran Turismo doesn’t really need a post-credits scene either, as it ends on a fairly satisfying, closed ending. There’s no real sequel to tease, and it doesn’t tie into any other PlayStation franchises. It’s not like Sweet Tooth races onto the track, or the course turns into one from Wipeout. You should walk away from the movie totally fulfilled with what you saw, and you can therefore run off to the bathroom without worrying about whether or not you have missed anything.
You can watch Gran Turismo yourself when it speeds into theaters on August 25, 2023. Or, once you’ve already seen it and are in the mood for some simulation racing, you can always play Gran Turismo 7 on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 now. There’s even a new tie-in update where you can race with the car from the film.
