This article is over 2 years old and may contain outdated information.

Playing games with your friends is sometimes the best way to play them. In fact, there are some games that just wouldn’t thrive without a multiplayer ability, like Party Animals. Considering that, we wrote out whether or not Party Animals has local multiplayer and couch co-op and how to use it to play with your friends.

Not only are you able to play Party Animals online with your friends, but you’ll also be able to play next to them in couch co-op with up to four players! Playing with your friends on the couch is probably the preferred and intended way to play the game as the randomness in fights is better experienced in person. If you’re looking to play online, you’ll be able to go against eight players, but they will either be your friends online or strangers depending on your choice.

Depending on which way you want to play with your friends depends on the sort of multiplayer game you want to play. So, if you’re looking to play local multiplayer in Party Animals, then you’re in luck.

To play local multiplayer, you will need to select the Custom Game option on the main screen. After that, you will be able to choose your preferred mode, map, and how many players will be playing. As we mentioned, only four players can play local multiplayer together, which can still make for some awesome memories. Once that’s done, you can start the stage and enjoy with everyone all together.

Party Animals also has split screen! In fact, when we say that four players can play in local multiplayer, we mean that the screen will be divided four ways with each player having their own square to play.

Some players dislike this option because of the idea of being able to cheat by looking into your opponent’s screen. However, doing that in Party Animals won’t really be that beneficial as you’re just fighting against your friends in the same arenas. Just taking a moment to look at where your opponent is in reference to where you are just takes time away from you beating everyone in sight down. Jut play it enough times until you feel that your friends have no chance against you.
