This article is over 1 years old and may contain outdated information.

Nowadays, most games in the life sim or RPG genres tend to have some romance involved, especially when you can interact and build friendships with locals like you can in Spirittea. Take games like Sun Haven or Stardew Valley, for instance. The games’ stories are fantastic, but after some time, it becomes much more about romancing the cutest character in town rather than much of anything else. Spirittea is very similar to both games in certain aspects, but others are vastly different. So, the question still stands: Does Spirittea have romance? Let’s find out.

Can You Romance Character in Spirittea?

The short answer here is quite simple — there is no romance in Spirittea. While there are at least 27 different townsfolk you can meet and build relationships with, the relationships aren’t of the romantic type, unfortunately. There’s no courtship of any type or marriage at this point, but it could always be added to the game at a later date. You really never know. With a newer game like this, anything can happen.

It’s important to note that Spirittea is a relatively new game, which means that a lot could change in the future. Maybe someday, you’ll meet the love of your life in that haunted bathhouse of yours, but until then, we’re limited to just friendships.

Regardless of the lack of romance in the game, there’s still loads of fun to be had while interacting with locals. You can build up friendships with each of them and set out on a quest to make them your best friend, all while getting to know all the spirits around and running your spooky bathhouse.

Jordan is an experienced fantasy writer who spends hours behind her laptop, and lost in the pages of a book. She strives to be a successful gaming blogger, and has no complaint about the hours of game time she used to increase her knowledge of all things “geek”. She primarily writes gaming articles and fantasy novels. Ark: Survival Evolved is a favorite, along with Diablo 3, Warframe and Minecraft lately, though you can’t forget the good old Magic the Gathering card game! Writing about games truly gives her joy as it gives her another perspective to look at games from, a reason to really look into the mechanics of the game.
