The Bad Guys is an animated family-friendly PG film that has risen above all competition at the box office this weekend and is projected to snag the top spot from last weekend’s Fantastic Beasts 3 (Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore), ranking number one! Reminiscent of a child-friendly Suicide Squad, DreamWorks Animation’s The Bad Guys is about “Several reformed yet misunderstood criminal animals attempt to become good, with some disastrous results along the way.”
Box Office Numbers for The Bad Guys Movie
The Bad Guys movie is currently exceeding the box office projections, which initially predicted the film’s opening weekend to gain between $15 to $20 million. After being released for one day at 4,900 theaters, DreamWorks The Bad Guys movie estimated domestic daily revenue from April 22nd is $8,000,000. This promising release might be enough to extend The Bad Guys’ success for weeks to come, especially since the only other kid-friendly animation releasing in the near future is Pixar’s Lightyear this June.
According to the IMDb, the storyline of The Bad Guys follows,
“After a lifetime of legendary heists, notorious criminals Mr. Wolf, Mr. Snake, Mr. Piranha, Mr. Shark and Ms. Tarantula are finally caught. To avoid a prison sentence, the animal outlaws must pull off their most challenging con yet — becoming model citizens. Under the tutelage of their mentor, Professor Marmalade, the dubious gang sets out to fool the world that they’re turning good.”
DreamWorks The Bad Guys is tagged with adventure, animation, comedy, crime, and family genres.
Sam Rockwell voices Wolf, Marc Maron of GLOW voices Snake, Awkwafina as Tarantula, The Office’s Craig Robinson as Shark, Anthony Ramos as Piranha, and Richard Ayoade as Professor Marmalade.
