Every year Dungeons and Dragons announces a new campaign book at a live event and 2020 is no different. While past D&D Live events took play in May, players will be rolling dice and telling stories in June at D&D Live 2020, though it will be a bit different due to COVID-19.
D&D Live 2020: Roll W/ Advantage will be entirely virtual and will help raise money for Red Nose Day from June 18 through the 20.
We’re bringing D&D’s brightest stars to this virtual table to preview the latest D&D storyline with live gaming sessions, all while raising money for Red Nose Day to help children affected by the COVID-19 outbreak.”
Some of the players rolling characters will include Felicia Day (The Guild), Brandon Routh (Arrow), Karen Gillan (), David Harbour (Stranger Things), Matthew Lillard (Scooby-Doo), and WWE superstars like Alexa Bliss, Tyler Breeze, Ember Moon, Xaviar Woods, and Dio Maddin.
Dungeon masters leading the action will be Deborah Ann Woll (Daredevil), principal D&D writer Chris Perkins, and principal rules designer Jeremy Crawford.
This year’s show will have a lot in common with previous events, except that fact that you won’t be able to attend in person. Fans will still be able to watch it all on Twitch or YouTube.
Along with several different games across three days, the team at Wizards of the Coast will be announcing the next Dungeons and Dragons storyline, among other surprises to be sure.
As social distancing impacts our ability to play together in-person, Dungeons & Dragons provides a unique opportunity to adventure with friends without leaving your front door. We’re celebrating that spirit of togetherness at D&D Live 2020: Roll w/ Advantage—a can’t-miss virtual event filled with epic quests and personalities, all to raise money for Red Nose Day.”
D&D Live 2020: Roll W/ Advantage begins June 18 with Anna Prosser Robinson hosting the reveal of what lies ahead for D&D. If you missed last year’s reveal, it was the Descent into Avernus book.
The show will also feature panels, insight on upcoming products, and interviews with developers.
It was also announced that fans can buy a special event shirt with all the money going towards Red Nose Day. Plus, TTRPG writers pitched in to create a homebrew adventure on DMsGuild that is available to download right now.
