Recently discovered “Gladiator-themed” story DLC for Dying Light 2 was allegedly situated in an opera theatre. The Dying Light v1.4.0 patch purportedly contains signs of a narrative DLC pack named “Opera,” as reported on Reddit. According to a video by YouTuber Bub, who first revealed the data-mined files, the first major story DLC will be a “gladiatorial theme.” It includes a new place in addition to the standard zombie-slaying and parkour action in Dying Light.
Gladiator-Themed DLC Seen on Dying Light 2 Datamine
A new location, incomplete dialogue, and even animated storyboards showing the DLC’s cinematics have all been found. Key lines of dialogue and storyboards also hint that gladiator fighting will be a significant feature of the expansion. The files also include several new NPCs with a gladiatorial theme. A big opera house looks to be where some of the DLC takes place. This place has been found in an untextured form, with many stories and a jail in the basement.
According to the Reddit post, the opera house called Opera Astrid and its surroundings will serve as the setting for significant gladiator events that will occur in the Dying Light 2 DLC. YouTuber Bub discovered two alternative endings, 2,000 lines of dialogue, fresh 3D models, storyboards, and much more in the datamine. Astrid’s Office, Church, and Metro Station are all listed as locations. Nevertheless, most files are unfinished, and the dialogues contain low-quality Polish sounds. There are also player animations that hint that the expansion may include additional moves.
Earlier this year, Techland stated the zombie action-adventure game fans to “expect the unexpected” with Dying Light 2 DLC. Then, Dying Light 2’s lead designer Tymon Smekta said that the game’s next story-driven DLC will “positively surprise people.” And this seems to make sense for DLC set in an opera theatre.
The most recent update for the game, version 1.4.0, which featured a picture mode and a free gameplay chapter, gave players some minor add-ons.
